I think that some creators think that their mods will be met with adulation or donations. They will quickly find out that most simmers are not going to donate a penny to their efforts and most are not going to pay for enhanced airports without custom models or if they are not a reputable developer.

Some are just in it for a quick buck.

I've donated $10 each to 4 different freeware authors so far. I also bough the "Pro" version of the Meigs field add-on with custom buildings, which has had free versions using stock assets for months (and still has a free version available).

I won't buy random airports off of SimMarket by an unknown developer though....so their loss I guess. I might have actually donated.

I'm not sure who the author thinks the market will be for this at $9, using default objects -- particularly when you can get, e.g., Fly Tampa's stunning YSSY for not that much more. Maybe we'll see a partial return to the crazy overheated P3D addon market after all...

I spoke with Adnan and he decided to sell his work with all the time he's put into it.  This is not a case of someone selling another developer's freeware.  It must have taken him awhile to get the freeware version taken down. Any updates from now on will be through Simmarket.
