@superspud will you be putting out amendments through 'flightsim.to' as and when?

Depends if it's worth amending.

If by some miracle they add actual elevations to the Channel Islands that's a five minute job to get rid of those changes and leave the prettifications. Same goes for Shetland.

If Orbx are doing Barton then if it isn't better then I'll be surprised going on their version for other sims. However I expect it'll be less fun without the open hangars so we might look into adding to it somehow.

My Land's End will remain better. There. I said it. They may improve the taxi and navigation stuff but I don't know if that's added to the original version too. Maybe it won't be or maybe that's a separate part of the programming and it will.

I might add to their Barra but they might do a nice job so there won't be much need. I might spruce up the surroundings on the rest of the island to go with it as they rarely bother.

Liverpool is the really confusing one. You'll have to download the airport to get the custom buildings so there's no way I can add them to my original file which is built on the original airport as the user will have car parks on top of car parks from the custom version.

I haven't had a go at editing one of their hand done airports as obviously there's no need but maybe you can't remove some of the elements. Not sure.

I expect that'll either die or be reborn as a triumph on top of it. Could go either way. Or they might hit it out of the park and it'll be perfect and I'll bin mine. It supplied enough fun for a while.

@superspud Thank you for taking the time to respond with detail:) For now we must wait and see!

So Barra is confirmed. That's every single location I've done, though there's nothing at Out Skerries to bother with other than taking out its broken terrain. That's a weird choice.

Expectations are riding ridiculously high on the official forums for some people. I think they're going to be sad when it hits. Better autogen and sorting the coastlines would be good enough for me. Anything else is a bonus.

I thought they would have done Manchester or Gatwick.

Manchester-Barton is only good for small GA

Loads of people seem to have a special place in their heart for Barton but it is an odd collection compared to the US. Considering Heathrow is the only one they've touched so far in the UK I would've expected two more bigger places instead of one.

Yes. That's my go to portal.

Liverpool is the only one I'd consider properly building around again, if there's a reason so, but I'll see if Barra can be added to. Shetland will take a few minutes to update.

Land's End and Barton will remain separate downloads and people can simply not download the Asobo version. That's if they remain better of course.

O love your EGGP, but, the important thing are all the work you've done on the approach.  Some are useful fir Airbus visual approach, but, theyare vital for GA approach. Keep up the good work

Have I done anything to the approach? Can't remember.

You might have added someone else's bits and bobs too. There are some very cool mods by others to go with it.

Oops. Sorry I thought you had done the Approach Mods. I agree with you though the mods should not stop at the Airport Perimeter

Shetland's terrain is already repaired which very much surprised me. They have also stripped it of trees themselves pretty much. I also saw my first EVER moving ship in Lerwick harbour and followed it for ten minutes in utter fascination.

This bodes well for the rest of the country.

It's me that did the EGGP approach mods.  I'm Superspud's "partner in crime" on Barton, etc - I do the custom buildings so I'm interested to see what Asobo do. I'm sure the quality of the general buildings will be far better.  It's a pity they went for Barton when there are plenty of other airports not yet modded which could've done with some TLC.

When we see what they do to EGGP and its surroundings, I will update my approach mods (probaby combine them), as POIs such as the Daresbury Tower are essential.

Just had a fiddle with an existing Asobo custom airport. You can delete everything in sight and slap your own stuff on top just fine.

From the one image of their Liverpool the landside doesn't look as good as some of their others so it should be possible to improve that while utilising all of their good bits too.

Looking forward to seeing what they have, and then what you can do

It could either be a breeze or a total nightmare. I'm very curious to find out.

I do wonder however whether that Liverpool shot is either a bit of a draft or the photo is broken. The forefront looks seriously weird and distorted. It might be considerably better than that.

Super spud, can I ask a question regarding updated airport scenery is it possible to make the Actual Gate Numbers appear in MSFS ATC and the 'World', I cant remember if your Liverpool does, but, I've downloaded Gatwick and although the scenery  shows the correct Gate, MSFS still uses Default numbers
