Addon Linker messed up. - Help! :) - SOLVED

Featured Replies

See the sceneries with the red mark, it should be a subfolder? It doesn't show my sceneries subfolders within the folder sceneries. That's where I have all the addons for sceneries freeware and payware.

But I have the folders and its subfolders in tact.

I tried restoring the saved Presets" but its no help.

See the parameters for "sceneries" folder? By mistake I put the contents of Auckland freeware within subfolder "sceneries" rather than its own "Auckland" subfolder. Then I  celled the copy midway and deleted the "scenery" folder within the "sceneries" folder.

Then I end up with this mess. I am unable to recover.

any ideas?

Try to remove the manifest.json and all other files (not folders) in the sceneries folder.

Thank you Thankyou thankyou. I panicked. LOL 🙂

I got it back. I used the restore to get all my current settings. That's why I deleted the linker folder and reinstalled from the recent version and it did not fix it. Cause the selection and its presets are not stored in the linker folder rather within the files/folders? and somehow it got replaced the manifest.json files   from Auckland package.. good to know.

Which file stores the linker selection "presets"? Any ideas?

The presets are in the folder, c:\ProgramData\MSFS Addons Linker\Presets.

cool you could sort it out and many thanks @PuffeB and @johnh1984 for the help.

yeah the 'folder' / 'addon' distinction is identified via the manifest.json file. So if you had a manifest.json file in that folder it would look like an addon and you wouldn't see its subfolders.

all the configuration files are stored in the c:\ProgramData\MSFS Addons Linker\ folder, this is to avoid loosing data when updating to a new version. Deleting that folder would make you start from scratch again. The presets are there by default, but you can also specify their location in the options screen if you want.

feel free to let me know if you need more help.

Just a comment - I sure wish some payware authors would provide the level support that Bad_T supplies for his freeware.
