March 4, 20215 yr Hi All, I have screensaver and screen timeout set on my PC. when running pp3d in full screen mode, I can set autopilot, step away, and when I get back I am still in full screen and all is well. With MSFS, if I do this, the screen saver is activated and screen eventually times out. When I eventually get back to the sim it is paused at the 'options' screen, where I can hit resume. Is there some way to have a similar experience as with P3d without having to disable or edit my screen setting. I haven't heard any talk of this 'problem', so I guess my situation is unique, but I cant be the only simmer that occasionally steps away from the computer. Any guidance or suggestion is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Robin
March 4, 20215 yr Not an answer to your question as such, but I simply switch off my monitor if I'm going to be away for a while. Better for the power bills, better for the environment. Thanks in advance. When I first bought MSFS I used the screen saver. I no longer do. It was a pain. But that's just me. Just try it without it on for a bit, and see what you think? You can always turn it back on, it's your computer. "Coffee, if your not shaking, you need another cup" Flight Sim Break Discord Channel: https://discord.com/invite/fCV62Ka2QZ
March 5, 20215 yr I stopped using screensavers years ago. I'm with 109Sqn on this one. Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
March 5, 20215 yr I don't have an answer for the OP, but I do have the opposite problem, sort of. It's weird. If I leave my CH Flight Sim Yoke (the old one) plugged in, my monitor sleep mode never engages. Even when I'm not running MSFS. I have to remember to plug it in before running MSFS, and unplug it when I'm finished with MSFS. Very weird. Fortunately, I have an easy to reach front panel USB socket on my PC. A bit of a pain, but doable. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.

It works fine and I haven't seen any obvious negative impact on the performance of MSFS or on the PC, and I run the sim in VR mode. Thanks all for sharing your thoughts. I may yet go the route of just switching off my monitors, if I discern any negativity using Process Lasso. Robin
