TBM won't intercept ILS anymore?

I am flying the TBM again after the latest update and noticed it won't intercept the ILS anymore, at least now when I want it to. I can only get it to work when I am almost landing already.

I usually fly on GPS, load an approach, activate it, load the ILS freq, and when I am on an intercept course I switch to HDG mode, switch GPS to LOC and enable APP. I see LOC and GS appearing in white but when I reach the intercept point the plane simply flies straight ahead in HDG mode... I then change the heading to intercept the ILS once more and only when I am on the final course and switch modes a few times the AP suddenly gets the LOC and GS.

Afaik this is how I usually did it and it always worked... Is something wrong with the TBM nowadays? Or do I miss something obvious?

I like the TBM for its speed and it's great GPS-system: it's soooooooo easy to load and check and change approaches, STARs, etc. Very convenient. I also like how you can type the freqs and search for relevant info. Great device and a great plane.

This happens to me when I have flown a GPS segment in the current flight. 

ILS intercept (tested yesterday after the big MSFS) worked OK.  But this is without having GPS segment loaded.

I guess we need to nail down the specific circumstance..... and report in zen desk to MSFT

Okay, thanks, I will see what happens if I for instance do not load an approach but let the AP fly the main basic GPS route and then switch to HDG mode for a 'manual' intercept. And if that doesn't work I will try to fly in HDG mode all the way. Enough things to try here. 😉

Flew ILS into KMOD last night perfect using Dakfly Mod and WT 3000 4.2. Sometimes you have to track LOC first with NAV1 aa source and Wait for GS indicator before activating APP mode

Yes, I found out this to be the case. It didn't intercept for me either when I just used APP but when I did this it worked. I repeated it several times and it works every time.

Seems Like some Airports GS Range is limited to OM. I'm not sure in Real life is GS Range 10 miles or so.

I am not sure if is in the sim but from my memory in some A/C there is a capture angle limit for the ILS (LOC) If the intercept angle is about 30 deg or thereabouts it seem to capture OK. Large angles don't capture. IRL A/C are positioned via the STAR or ATC to give a fairly shallow ILS capture.

It isn't that. My catpure angles were great and even at an angle of 10 (or straight on) the ILS didn't react. Just did a flight in the C172 (steam) and it didn't intercept the ILS either. Not the LOC nor the GS. Not even when I was at 2 nm straight ahead of the runway. Something is wrong here. But well, luckily you can fly an ILS by hand too. 😉

Strange, I did an IFR TBM flight to KECP yesterday and the ILS captured and tracked OK. I did manually put in the ILS freq and I cancel the IFR as I approach the ILS and it seems to work OK. At what point are you slecting APPR on the autopilot??

Usually when I am an a good path to intercept the ILS at a proper angle, not more than one or two miles before the FAF. Certainly not too soon anyway!

I forgot to ask, 

1. Are you putting the approach in the flight plan

2 At  what point are you selecting Nav 1 as the controlling input.

3. Are you seeing the ILS ident on the PFD e.g  IMEG 110.3

Now I understand why in some circumstances the ILS might not catch when coming in FMC mode.... its one or more "user" points that bet into the flight plan when selecting the STAR and or APPROACH via the FMC.

According with the video this has been reported and should be fixed ...

Looks like with the last patch the "user" waypoints issue does not affect the AP any more ( 5 flights all OK so far)
