March 24, 20215 yr With respect to the "generic airliners", it's worth noting that large business jets (Airbus CJ and Boeing BBJ) are parked in that location at the real world airport. Oh I don't doubt that there should be airliners/airliner-sized business jets there. It's just the fact that they are MSFS generics with garish yellow & green liveries rather than properly modelled & painted CJs & BBJs that I objected to. And even then, only mildly. 😉 Edited March 24, 20215 yr by mrfilbert filbertflies.com | YouTube | Twitchi7 13700k, GeForce RTX 3080Ti, 32GB RAM
March 24, 20215 yr I have both Headcorn and Lydd which are excellent, Headcorn has even become my go to airport for spitfire flights. I have no doubt about the quality and work put into this one but it's 60% more expensive and the harsh exchange rate against the pound is putting this one above AUD $30 which makes it a hard sell compared to the stuff I can pick up from Orbx where even the ones you reviewed as ' absolutely fantastic' come in below that price. Another comparison is Maccosim which also charges 10 pounds for his UK airports and is another small dev I've been supporting directly, there was also some debate some time ago about UK2000 but now his airports are AUD $22.95 on the marketplace which is a fair price. I appreciate the exchange rate is not the dev's fault but I do fear it's his problem, I'm sure you can make the argument that the problem is mine but it is what it is and for me this one is too deer.
March 25, 20215 yr Author The price is definitely on the high side, regardless of exchange rate. I don't talk prices in my reviews unless I feel something is either a total rip off or 'not that good but cheap enough to justify it'. This is neither. It'll be worth it to some, and obviously not worth it to others. I agree - Headcorn is an absolute masterpiece. filbertflies.com | YouTube | Twitchi7 13700k, GeForce RTX 3080Ti, 32GB RAM

For me at present Farnborough is an epicentre of the Frame Tanking bug (EGLF hangs off the bottom left hand corner of London CTR) As discovered here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/intriguing-discovery-76t-bad-fps-areas-geometrically-linked-to-class-b-boundaries/382538 So it's a no-fly zone for me until the bug is fixed. Pity, looks good. Edited March 25, 20215 yr by Will Fly For Cheese
March 25, 20215 yr I also bought Headcorn and it's beautifully detailed but very heavy on FPS (judging by perception, I stopped flying in dev mode). On first run Headcorn was so choppy I uninstalled it, though after I gave it a second try and loaded it a couple of times performance seemed to settle down. The hit is noticeable but not nearly as bad as it used to be. Does Farnborough suffer from the same problem? The impression I got from Headcorn was that there was little or no optimisation and hi res, hi poly objects that would never be visible from the air or the flight line were included. i7-10700K; RTX 2070 Super; 16GB; P3Dv4.5HF3 & MSFS2020.
March 25, 20215 yr I can't say I ever had performance issues with Headcorn, I would say it runs well. I even enjoy walking around that one in drone mode before popping into my plane, such a nice immersive airport that one. Full disclosure my PC belongs in a museum and I run everything on low or off but hey MSFS still runs and looks better than its competitors. Hopefully PC parts will become available before we start flying planes that were used in WW3 🤔 Edited March 25, 20215 yr by stefaandk typo
