April 13, 20215 yr Hi all. When I started todays Update, the first 1.2 gig downloaded fine. Then restarting MSFS my Kaspersky AV kept saying there were unusual and dangerous objects, and deleted things with no option to stop, and forced a computer restart. I have since tried to re-run MSFS, with and without AV. But keep getting this error message “Access to the content servers is currently unavailable. Please ensure you have an active internet connection, and try again later”. Any ideas as to what could be causing this message.? Edited April 13, 20215 yr by Paulcoy Images
April 14, 20215 yr Yeah, your AV saw that file as potentional virus. 99,99% is just a false positive. But it quarantined or deleted it, preventing MSFS to run. Happens on a regular basis with different AV's too (and not only MSFS). If the file (or files) were deleted by the AV, only a re-install will help. I would whitelist the whole MSFS installation to prevent your AV from accidentally detecting false positives and delete good stuff. April 14, 20215 yr I have used Webroot for years. I have never had any issue downloading any update of any program with Webroot.

Not easy in this case. It seems the problem is at some intrincate location of that file. I would completely de-activate Kaspersky while running MSFS until the problem is solved by Kaspersky. April 14, 20215 yr Author I have uninstalled Kaspersky which has never given me a problem before. But trying to reinstall MSFS keeps coming up with the same problem. How can I completely remove MSFS including registry entries ? Then re install.
April 14, 20215 yr Author I had to uninstall Xbox and Xbox console before I could get MSFS to install again without the same error message
April 14, 20215 yr Hope you managed to fix it. These 3rd party AVs seem to be a nightmare, never used them but my roomates do (Kaspersky & Norton) and the things are forever locking up/quarantining/screaming about game files. I've used the default Win Defender only and never had any issues.
April 14, 20215 yr Author Thanks ThrottleUp. Yes MSFS is now installing and I have uninstalled Kaspersky. Time will tell 🙂
