FS2Crew Weekend Update - 25 April 2021!

FS2Crew Weekend update for April 25th, 2021!

Cometh the hour.... cometh the FBW A32NX Version...

*FS2Crew: FLY BY WIRE A32NX PROJECT (Voice and Button Control)*

We'll be releasing a Release Candidate to beta testers in the next 24 hours. If all goes well, the hope is to release next weekend.

Again, that's a hope not a promise!

The FBW A32NX is our first fully voice (and button) controlled flight crew simulation for MSFS.

The concept is the same as what you know from all previous FS2Crew releases (it's an airline crew sim where you take the role of the Capt and Pilot Flying), but this time you'll find the implementation is quite different and new.

Indeed, the internal code is completely different from our FSX/P3D line of products since we had to reimagine everything for MSFS.

Commands and checklists, for example, are no longer connected to "modes" and all in all it's more flexible than our previous FSX/P3D versions.

It's also a stand-alone EXE, so there's no more panel.cfg mods.

We also redesigned and updated the speech recognition code.

The audio system is also totally new and different from P3D/FSX.

What's more, you have the "option" of using a Push to Talk key when talking.

We've found that using the PTT key gives good results since the speech recognition system isn't constantly detecting sound.

The interface for "Button Control" is also quite different as well (very different from Flight Crew A320 for MSFS), and we think it's much better.

The integration with the FBW A32NX is quite good. We can basically read and control almost everything... I'd say about about 90 percent.

Procedures modelled are stock Airbus from the FCTM/FCOM.

We developed the program using the DEVELOPMENT version of the A32NX, so you should be on that version.

If you don't own the A32NX yet for MSFS, you should get it. It's free.

Make sure you're using the latest official installer.

And before you ask, yes, there will be a good discount for FS2Crew: A320 Button Control users! 🙂

*PUSHBACK EXPRESS for MSFS*

We're working on a small update for PBE.

We think we may have found a way to make the tug pre-connect to the aircraft and stay there prior to pushback.

This makes things a bit more realistic than the current system.

Hi Bryan,

That's good news on the FC2FBW A32NX. Just a question. In previous messages on this product you mentioned the possibility of  mixing crews, rather than having the same crewmembers, cockpit and cabin, within one crew. Will this option be included in the release version of Flight Crew for FBW A32NX?

Best,
Hans

Kind regards,
Hans van WIjhe

Yes, crews can be mixed now.  You can select different accents for Capt, FO and FA.

So you could have a British Captain with an American FO with a German FA.

FS2Crew for MSFS is quite different from the old P3D/FSX versions.  All the old code had to be thrown out.  Only commonality is that we still use Simconnect.

We've changed a ton things.

It's more flexible now in many, many ways.

The UI is very different as well.

Buzzing for these. Another addon to make this closer to becoming the main sim for most. Is there the ability/ roadmap for Pushback express to feature auto pushback or is the SDK not there yet and won’t be part of this anyway?

Will the manual be released with the release or will it be released earlier so we can study it? Just wondering as you've said it's a bit different to how the P3D product are?

Excellent news Bryan! 🙂

We're following the Airbus FCOM / FCTM, so the closest manual would be to study the FS Labs FS2Crew manual.

The User Interface is quite different from FSX/P3D.  But it's easier.  We using Windows forms, so we can use tool tips and checkboxes for options and sliders for things like volume control.

It's pretty easy to use.

Great news, I hope you will go the same way when the A380 is ready, which is preparing FlyByWire

will it be possible to have a key mapping for the forward Button? 20 Minutes Preperation are enough for me so I skip the first 10 Minutes.

I could assign a keyboard key to my self made flight panel with spadnext and when I turn on the Nav Light for example it would automaticly skip the minutes without having to klick 10 times in an panel. breaks a little bit the immersion. 🙂
