Three days of downloading...

I think I have had over 20 'Blue Screens Of Death' and computer reboots of maybe 30 or more times trying to download this sim.

Sir. I think it's safe to say you've got bigger fish to fry before trying to install the sim.

My thoughts exactly. This Windows/ MSFS  installation is going to be one of those with constant CTD, about as unstable as as a drunk, schizophrenic psychopath chewing on the neighbours pet while smoking daisies.

Format C:\ and all other drives and start again. Take your PC along when you visit a mate or family friend with an uncapped and faster internet. You can’t do this on your internet.

Good luck though.

I feel your pain, I mainly live in a semi-rural Italy, lovely place only 2 hours drive from Rome and althoughj the fiber reaches the local telephone cabin, from there to the house is about a mile of ancient copper wire = 7mb/s dounload speed. Fortunately I have another place by the coast where it is up to 70mb/s so it only took a few hours to download. Having a rather annoying issue with the throttle control so already concerned if I will have to re-install, having to lug the gaming pc there all over again. Best of luck, or as they say here: buona fortuna

Constant BSODs and (especially) spontaneous reboots of the computer point to a serious hardware problem. I don’t think the OP is going to have any luck downloading MSFS no matter how good his internet is. He stated it is a “new” PC - could be an unstable CPU or GPU overclock, bad RAM, bad PSU. Since it is new, perhaps something came unseated in shipping. If any RAM modules or the GPU are not firmly seated, that could certainly cause the problem.

Something like that likely is up.  He has not returned since the OP.

Well I finally beat Microsoft. For some reason most of my download speeds when I was having a problem was about 80+Mbps. The last time I tried to download the speed was in the low 20's at most, and it never disconnected. I'm not a geek at all, however I have downloaded numerous games via Steam, and never had a problem or it being slow. Lets see what happens when an update comes.

Yup, three days of downloading MSFS again via Steam to a new computer,

I will be facing this same situation in the near future. However I have never had to re-download any of my Steam games to transfer to another drive or machine. I just install the drive in the new computer, install Steam and point it to the existing game files and it does its checks/updates etc.

Now, I do not yet have MSFS so seeing your post has made me curious - will this game not work if you do the above? The user has to download the whole thing again if they get a new computer?

Make a copy of your onestore folder then when installing a new copy of MSFS use the onestore folder you have a copy off. It will save your computer from having to download 100GB+ off data. My Install went from 20 hours to 20 min
