June 13, 20214 yr Hi Guys, I am looking at getting a new TV to use as my monitor.. I was thinking of this one LG 55 Inch 55CX5LB AEK 4K Smart UHD OLED TV....Anybody have this TV and if soo is it good? Dave
June 13, 20214 yr I'd recommend that you do some research on OLED displays in general--it's been a number of years since I last looked myself, but at the time they were prone to image burn-in, and with flight sim displays that may paint parts of a panel image for prolonged periods, it presented a potential problem. The technology may have advanced to reduce/eliminate that risk...or not. Might be worth some of your time to get the current scoop. June 14, 20214 yr I always appreciate advice that can save loads of money by not making the wrong decision. For me it is one of the best uses of the forums. Thanks Bob
June 15, 20214 yr Moderator The other thing to bear in mind with OLED is that unless you blackout your sim room you may not fully appreciate the blackness of the blacks. Nighttime flying would be great but an a/b comparison with a LED TV may make you reassess things if you fly primarily in daytime. As long as a TV can support chroma 4:4:4 it will be fine for Windows and flight sim. Any TV that has HDR is generally okay. Ray (Cheshire, England). June 15, 20214 yr I just Bought this one which is a 48". It is also HDMI2.1 has g sync free sync, VRR this should future proof you for awhile. Alot of great reviews . This is not just a TV but geared towards gamer's and Simmers. You will need a 3 series card to get the most out of it as the ports are HDMI 2.1 Edited June 15, 20214 yr by FreeBird(Josh) CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /
