June 14, 20214 yr I didn't do anything different, but all of a sudden MSFS crashes when it starts to load. Sometimes it gets as far as allowing me to put in my plane choice, but soon after that the sim crashes to the desktop. This really has never happened to me before with this sim. All updates are current, and something changed...but I really don't know where to start. Could use some advice, thanks. Stan
June 14, 20214 yr Try emptying your community folder of all addons. If that fixes it you will need to add them back in sections until you narrow down the problem addon. I've looked at the Event Viewer (actually the first time I've ever done so), and I'm not exactly sure how to identify the error code for MSFS. Installed P3d v5.2, the new Active Sky, and Windows did indeed do an automatic update the other night. All of the above.
June 14, 20214 yr Moderator First and most important step - remove everything from Community Folder and run MSFS - that will determine step two. I wouldn't do0 ANYTHING else until you determine if it's the sim install or an addon. Do step one and if sim works you know what step two should be. June 14, 20214 yr Author I found the CULPRIT! It's XForce....which I've been using very successfully since its inception. It actually works well with my Microsoft FF2 joystick. Today there was another update to XForce. Perhaps that was it. When I use MSFS without activating XForce, it works great. I've even uninstalled XForce and reinstalled it. It still crashes when I start the sim with XForce. Hopefully they will correct this. Stan
