Was about to pull the plug on a Fulcrum yoke when I saw this: https://www.turtlebeach.com/pages/velocity-one-flight. And only $350. Will wait for reviews though. They only ship to US which is a bummer. 

Interesting features. Though it mentions Windows 10 compatibility, it appears to be aimed squarely at the X-Box market, which leads me to believe this vendor is betting that MSFS will be a hit on that platform.

Once upon a time, in 1996, I had a great sound card in my computer - Turtle Beach Tropez Plus. This company was on top.

I didn't even know the Turtle Beach Company still existed. Very interesting news, it will be bad if the purchase is available only in the United States.

Interesting, it is definitely a 'does everything' type of product as it seems to have tried to cover all functions and types of throttle. At that price it will do well if they can keep up with demand and other budget plastic controllers are definitely going to be up against it if it delivers what it promises.

They don't state the pitch travel distance of the yoke. If it's any shorter than Fulcrum's, I am not going to buy it.

Look at the size of the case. It will be less than half the travel of the Fulcrum (8”) and probably identical to the Saitek. If you lived a bit closer I’d invite you to try my Fulcrum. 😉

Yes Moscow is a bit far to come to try one out here! You wouldn't be the first Russian customer though 🙂

I would gladly come to visit you even if you didn't own the Fulcrum, just to help you fly Concorde-X as a first officer 😉

I was asking about the pitch distance because this is one of the most important aspects when it comes to precise landings. Some other yokes may offer 180 degrees steering, but they leave a lot to be desired when it comes to the travel distance. Add the exchangeable yoke shapes of the Fulcrum, which makes the choice clear to me.

That would be a lot of fun. 👍 With all that pitch travel it’s easy to over-flare on landing until you get used to it. Another skill to refine.

They seem to be pretty popular with the UK supermarkets and the likes of Argos catalogue shops as far as their headsets are concerned.

 

As for the yoke, it certainly looks to be promising a lot for the money (£330), though it does look a bit plasticky, and the dedicated Xbox buttons look out of place (although it's understandable why they're there). To get a throttle quadrant with trim wheel is certainly impressive, on paper at least. But I definitely feel I'd miss the travel of the Fulcrum.

Not forgetting the absolute precision a yoke with Hall-effect sensors gives you.
