June 20, 20214 yr 50nm North of Bergen. Sorry for the rant, but these seem to be consistent through all Norway, a jigsaw of huge blurred squares, covering BIG areas. The effect is even more apparent due to lack of tree coverage after tree ring LOD reductions, patch after patch. And no, it doesn´t happen in narrow , shadowed fjords, it happens almost everywhere. This is AFTER a World Update, what makes it very evident that WUs are more a POI-rich , "not-so-great" quality mesh and three airport updates. UK WU is MlLES ahead of this mess. My expectations for Switzerland, Austria, etc are....not good anymore. I can understand that available data is what it is, and MS can´t or won´t update those Bing aerial images, but advertising in World Updates may make users believe otherwise. Just checking, but did you check Options -> General -> Data and make sure that none of the top data items have been turned off? Occasionally an update has been known to change those settings. ...jim ASUS Prime Z790-E, Intel i9 13900K, 32Gb DDR5 Ram, Nvidia 3090 24Gb, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB and 1 TB, Samsung Odyssey G9 Ultrawide 49" G-SYNC Monitor.
June 21, 20214 yr Wow, if those screenshots are representative of the scenery in Scandinavia after World Update 5, then that is extremely disappointing. It looks more like generic landclass (aka. default FSX/P3D) than high resolution photoscenery. June 21, 20214 yr As incredible as it may seem, all Data is ON. All Aerial imagery streaming services are active. It´s just that Bing Aerial Imagery is embarrassingly lackluster in most Nordics. We were reassured that MS would update it as it came available and it was logical to expect that Asobo was doing just that when tackling a World Update. Well, no, they didn´t. At all. Just in case, suit yourselves, go to Haukasen, ENSG, or Stryn, ENSF, and fly around a 50nm circle. P.S: I couldn´t avoid a grin when flying over Urnes Stave Church, rendered in 3D beautifully now after WU 5 and noticing that all cliffs and mountains in the surroundings had a FSX look to them. A perfect example of this new updating philosophy, I guess. Edited June 21, 20214 yr by Aristoteles Iñigo Bildarratz
June 23, 20214 yr This is how it looks over most of Scandinavia, the latest World update is a joke, it's extremely sad, I had high hopes for updated Bing maps, what was the point of making an update at all when it did not get better than this.
