June 20, 20214 yr Hey forum, I am beginning research for my new PC, my current one is 5 years old and I'm expecting another year of research and saving for my next build. Currently my primary sim is P3D 5.2, MSFS 2020 is not quite where I want it yet (with available addons), but by the time I can make this new build a thing, MSFS will hopefully be where I want it to be but the specific addons I use on P3D will likely not be on the new platform yet, so I am expecting using both sims for a while. Is it feasible and realistic to have one dedicated SSD for P3D and all of its addons, and other SSD for MSFS and its addons in the new build? One of the two will probably share storage space with the Windows installation. Would there be any conflicts or things I need to consider? Thanks!
June 20, 20214 yr That's what I do, I have a 2TB SSD with Win10 and MSFS on it, and separate 1TB SSDs with P3Dv4 and P3Dv5 on them. There's really no commonality or conflict between MSFS and P3D. June 21, 20214 yr Why stop at 2? 😉 6 ssd's and 2 NVME drives here. Just be sure to install Windows on the fastest drive that you have. It blows me away that people put their Sim on the fastest drive but windows on one much slower. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
July 13, 20214 yr Then add another ssd for all other games.. I'm up to 5 in my case. No problems at all.
