Lens Correction

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just wanted to check/compare something with other setups. I searched on this forum and the old google, but couldn't come across anything.

In cockpit view, turn OFF "Lens Correction" in the graphics display. On my setup, this drastically sharpened the instruments, especially glass cockpits. When I turn it on again, it's back to a bit blurry.

Not sure if its just me, but I much prefer the sharp instruments with Lens Correction - OFF.

Any input? Cheers.

Will check that later! I haven't fully understood, what that option does anyways....if someone can enlighten me?

Don't quote me on this but I think Lens Correction is suppose to limit the fisheye effect in multi-monitor setups.

Not sure if this help:

Lens Correction OFF

Lens Correction ON:

Very Subtle, but makes a difference for me.

For clarification I just run a single monitor.

It's sharper when it's off too, I only have one screen too

My understanding is this setting is supposed to correct...something for 4K and QHD monitors. For me, it hasn't worked right; it seems to cause a fish-eye distortion in drone camera view. I'm Mr. 4k user, btw.

Cockpit camera-wise, I can't detect a difference.

I've left it enabled thinking that someday it will work correctly.

Thanks, very interesting article and going through all the other settings now. So they assess the performance impact to 11% with Lens Distortion on. So by switching it off, you get improved performance and a sharper cockpit (which is better IMO). Sounds like a win-win by turning it off. I couldn't really notice any other benefits to having it ON.

Only it does not work as the multi monitor support is not finished yet….
