Low rez ground tile when spawning on runway

Featured Replies

I believe this started with the latest update..  When I first spawn on a runway, the ground tile under the aircraft is fuzzy.

After taking off and returning to the same spot, the runway has cleared up.

Has anyone encountered this?

Last location: Skagit runway 11.

It's been like this for a long time, only it does not occur all the times.

It also happens at altitude sometimes, when you have a blurred low resolution circle right below the aircraft and the surrounding areas are OK.

It may be due to connection issues or a bug that makes the sim believe the area affected is not displayed on the screen.

Sometimes going to external view and panning around for a while seems to fix it. Sometimes not.

There is a graphics setting that moving up to ultra helps but cannot recall which one.

I get this at random.  It seems to be about a 15 metre area around the aircraft where the runway lines and numbers are fuzzy, whereas in the distance it is ultra sharp!  If you taxi away a short distance and come back, they sharpen up.

As Glenn and Fuzzy have noted, all of what they have stated is relevant, and certainly going to outside view, rotating the view and giving it a few seconds can bring them to sharpness (sometimes).

Although this has happened to me for some time (I remember it from months ago), I think it may be related to the St. Barts bug.  They recently added beautiful water masks off the end of the runway.  If you take off and fly low over them they disappear in blocks underneath the aircraft - weird!  There seems to be some kind of LOD issue for a certain radius around the aircraft.

It should be an easy problem to solve once they have it as a priority.  Hopefully it might be fixed in the update due on the 27th.  We will soon see!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
