There are many places that could definitely be better (resolution, more recent imagery etc.) but the good ones are not only those which were 'updated'. I've been flying all over the globe in places non updated which will most probably never be : Western China, the Indian Subcontinent, Central Asia, the Andes, the Amazon, Indonesia (Java, Sulawesi, Borneo, Flores etc.), Laos, Myanmar, Greece, Israel and Jordan and more. Acceptable to reasonably good imagery not all but most of the times. I guess it depends on what you feel is reasonably good. Flying around B.C. (my home province) has taught me that anything I see is likely to be inaccurate… my biggest issues are rounded mountains with horrible low res rock textures, coastlines that have issues (green textures beaches or strange water levels, sunken structures, no waves, surf or masks). And then there are often large multi-story buildings where I know there are no such thing. So I know my own back yard is terribly represented and other areas I’ve visited in real life. I have to believe that all other areas are similar. I don’t want to fly VFR there if it’s not an accurate representation. I’m taking a break since Jan so more of the world gets fixed along with a bunch of other issues. If and when I get back into it I will only fly World Update areas. Have you tried these 2 15m DEM addons? They make it alot more respectable than default. Its not going to fix building errors but the landscape will be alot more plausible. They are very big downloads. https://flightsim.to/file/15893/british-columbia-15m-dem-high-resolution-terrain-elevation-data-from-lidar-imaging-part-1 https://flightsim.to/file/15218/vancouver-island-canada-15m-dem-high-resolution-terrain-elevation-data-from-lidar-imaging CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,

That supports my point, that unless an area has received some TLC, it's not really worth flying VFR as its not going to be an accurate representation of what it's really like. For example, anyone visiting the Canadian Rockies would be very underwhelmed in the default game world. The majesty is lost in poor elevation maps and terrible textures.

I have a bit of a bad feeling if we now start to stuff the sim with all sorts of Mesh, Vegetation, Textures, Landmarks anyway, and so on. Not far into the future we will start seeing True Earth(TM) sceneries for MSFS in the 30$/50GB range, and I bet people will buy them. Nothing against using and buying addons (and I bought tons of addons already myself). However, initially I thought these woud be limited to (i) Airports, (ii) Landmarks, (iii) Planes. The rest of the world should have been provided by Asobo/MS. Nonetheles😉, I feel guilty, as I just download the mesh because I'm often in the air in the BC region myself. No default sim has world updates like this for free though. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
