July 15, 20214 yr So,ย finally yesterday I found the time to push XP11 into my new 1 TB NVme SDD ๐ The GPU is still the good old GTX 960 GB, but this new rig with the Ryzen 5600X as well asย the RAM ( quality and quantity = 32 GB ) plus the Motherboard itself, make a WHOLE lot of a difference... I am still not using other than the bland default scenery which, compared to MFS really leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm one of those who accept that in return for a quality FLIGHT simulation. I enabled HDR, the first level of AA ( one tick from full left ), Vulkan and tried with Medium and then High scenery ( # objects ) settings. Also, for the very first time, I enabled VSync, and it stays put at 60 practically all of the time ๐ But while I monitored the T because this new rig pushed the GPU to Temps I had never experienced before, I didn't monitor GPU memory use... Maybe I should in orderย to try to understand what might have been the cause for the only quirk I noticed - disappearing displays in the PFD, ND and both EWS of the A319 when I moved the scenery detail slider to HIGH. I do not have shadows enabled. BTW, only 3 addons ( 2 helis and the Toliss A319 ) were added, and later today I may find the time to add ASXP, which I frankly still consider the best alternative for the default weather in X-Plane 11... Any ideas about what can be causing the loss of the LCDs displayย in the Toliss really welcomed ! GPU are now becoming available at MSRP (retail prices), have you considered upgrading the GPU to match/balance out with the rest of your system? Cheers, Rob. Thx for the prompt reply Rob and suggestions, and yes a new GPU is in my plans as soon as the prices become acceptable. This desktop was designed by a friend, Alexis also here from the AVSIM forums and it came with a GPU. Actually he later dropped his option for a Radeon RX 6700 and now is seeking a Nvidia himself because of better drivers ( at least for MFS )...ย In the meanwhile I am awaiting for lower / acceptable GPU prices. They cost a little fortune around here, but hey... everything costs a little fortune around here, like gasoline at โฌ1,879 when in your USA people are starting to feel threatened by an around 50c price ๐ I will not be able to get the 3090, but a 3060 or even a 3070 could become my next GPU ! July 15, 20214 yr I've been thinking of upgrading my RTX2070. From my usual supplier an RTX3080Ti is ยฃ1600!!!๐ And even an RTX3070 is ยฃ900. I think I paid around ยฃ230 for my 2070. What the hell is going on?

It didn't occur to me there would be a successor so soon, but I came to realizing reading your post that "so soon" is actually wrong, because with the GPU shortage and the pandemic, I didn't feel like the 30XX was on the market for so long already! Do you have any articles you could share about these? Edited July 16, 20214 yr by RXP

But all articles I can find talk about a release toward the end of 2022. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

Late 2021 would have been odd anyway, as the resource shorage for chips is still not overcome and RDNA2 still has a lot of shelf-life left, especially considering the still extremely high demand. ย 20 hours ago, Rob_Ainscough said: AMD Ryzen 6000 series (6nm) CPUs are projected for early 2022 with AM5, DDR5, USB 4.0, PCIe 5.0 but core count will go down to 12 (12c/24t) ... this is "leaked" rumor so take it "as is". Not sure they can keep that date either, considering it's a major leap in terms of socket and RAM. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
