Using the Reverb G2 and FS2020 and because of the improved clarity of the G2 there has been a few occasions when I am sitting in the CJ4 flight deck and the aircraft banks left, for a split second I  feel that I am in the air high above the ground and get startled.  It is an amazing feeling, I cannot believe where we have come with regards to technology in a few years. I can only imagine where we will be in a few years time with the likes of human eye resolution. It will feel 99.99% like being there, now it feels 90% being there!

While I am always pushing for better, I also agree.

5 years ago, I didn't think it was at all likely that VR would become available for flight sims on even high-end consumer PC's in my lifetime or income bracket.  And now it's here...and already it's pretty darned impressive!

More than that, pretty much all of the 'grown up' simulators now have VR capability.  Long may they compete hard to get a lead on their rivals!  😉

And affordable higher FOV and monitor-grade resolution headsets are probably not so far around the corner...

I always enjoy showing people VR. DCS has an air start quick mission. Since I always need to get it setup and running for whoever I'm showing it to, the pre-recenter view always ends up about three feet to the right or left of the pilot's seat, until they get situated and recenter it.

I tell them "Now don't look down" just after they've got the headset on. The reaction is always worth it 🙂

If you look down, you'll shoot your eye out!

you can imagine their reaction when we have the resolution of Varjo as a mainstream headset!
