MSFS VR camera reset problem

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have, after 5 days of tweaking, re-configuring and  general problem solving, can now get into MSFS for a flight.

After reaching this momentous stage of SU5, I now find a message when I trigger my VR. I get a message saying that I need to configure VR- camera reset.  Under Graphics in the General Options, in VR Mode I find a title "VR - Camera Reset, which has a question mark in a dotted square. There is no way I can click on this to change the binding. Clicking on VR mode simply directs me to a screen which says VR-Camera Reset is required to play in VR .. Please assign a command to this action. This screen presents in a locked situation which gives no opportunity to "assign a binding" which is highlighted in blue. The only way round this is to exit the programme.

Getting back into the programme I go to options and controls, but again I cannot find that command to which I can assign a binding.

Can someone help me here please? I am really looking forward to my first flight since the update using VR.

Regards

Tony

Pete,

You are way ahead of me mate.

I cannot get into VR mode because of the message in the first post. My VR headset is 264gb Quest 2 with link cable.

Really, all I have to do is assign that command and I should be all OK. That "VR - command reset"  was not a requirement (to my knowledge) prior to SU5 because I was very happy with MSFS before that update.  It has created 5 full days work tweaking and problems solving (after the "usual" uninstall and reinstall.

Pete,

That is what I "USED" to do before the update.  Now I get that message.

Also. I have just been into "control options" and there is no, repeat, no VR - Camera Reset. assignment. I do however, have a "reset cockpit view" Is that thre one you are talking about?

Pete,

OK, the next problem is that I cannot mouse click on anything.  If I hover the mouse (arrow) over "landing gear" it highlights it in blue but does nothing.

Can you tell me the command that binds the mouse to become clickable?

This too was all ok before the #%%^%$# update.

Pete,

OK,

That is now sorted but I now have some real problems with controlling my aircraft. After takeoff I simply climb normally and then dive uncontrollably to the left.

I may just wait until SU6 and !#^^$# you msfs

This is just unbelievable. I have been tested and proved positive.

Hello again Pete.

Update.

I am now flying again (I think it is all sorted now) and starting to load my community folder (one at a time) starting with the libraries, my Aussie sceneries and then, if I am brave enough and all else has gone well, my modded aircraft and utilities.

I had to uninstall and reinstall twice.  Both times I had to delete my control configs as two were corrupted.  This meant remapping all my hardware etc in Control Options. Even in those I found quite a few changes which I did not recognize from all my efforts in August 2020 which was the initial release,

I have to say, that now all is working functionally, this has been the biggest headache to reconfigure to get anywhere near what I had before the update and it has taken a solid 5 and a half days. (Been up since two am here) trying to sort it all out,

Wish me luck please mate LOL

If you have lots to add to community folder, it is not a good plan to add them one at a time. Add half of them at a time. Say you have 20, then add 10 and test. If the test is bad, then remove half of them (5). And test again. Instead of 20 test for 20 addons it would only be about 5 or 6 doing it this way.
