Kudos to Flight One

Many thanks to Flight One for updating the Conquest 441 for FSX. It's one of my favorite add-ons and I used it to make a North Atlantic crossing.Every developer should use Flight One's purchase system. Installing the upgrade was flawless and easy. Jim

Same from me. Thank you Flight1.Can you imagine, a free upgrade?I feel like donating a few bucks now :)

A big THANKS from me.I and alot of others will remember. We also remember those who charge for FSX "compatable" and "ready".Flight One will continue to get my support.

My hard drive/mo board just died-I have been reinstalling everything for two days (who said there are not many add ons for fsx?-lol).The flight one wrapper makes it a cinch-get all the codes for every product I have bought over years in a single email-I wish all developers made it this easy. I am now struggling with the last two add ons that are not....http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

I agree it was a very nice gesture...I also note that redesigning the installation wrapper for FSX installation is a rather trivial matter, with very little "cost" either in time or resources.I also note that there is absolutely nothing on the Flight1 website that implies or promises that the 441 "upgrade" for FSX utilizes any of the new FSX specific features. The absence of such certainly implies that there has been no rework of the aircraft model at all. There is a fundamental distinction between "compatible" and "compliant." The latter term indicates a purpose-built model and textures for FSX, the former merely indicates that it'll "work in FSX."While some developers have chosen the "free compatible model now" and will (perhaps) eventually release a "compliant model" for an additional purchase......some other developers have chosen the "compatible model purchase now" and free update to a "compliant model" later approach. In either case, the customer will ultimately pay for the tremendous amount of work involved in producing a truly "compliant model..." ;)

True and as a basic customer, I agree to pay developpers for the amount of entertainment they provide me with.I consider Flight1 experts in customer service because theyknow a "free" compatible or compliant model upgrade can go a long way. Let's not forget they did the same with their C172R.On the same note, Carenado simply released a patch making all their models compatible. They didn't have to but did it anyway. That also deserves acknowledgement.I mean I am no developper and I understand any amount of time spent working on a project deserves remuneration. I have no problem paying for an upgrade whether it is compatible or compliant but it also feels good as an end-user to see free upgrades coming our way, they don't go unnoticed. This community makes leaps forward when that happens.

Roger That! But "Compliant" is a relative term.

I think the "3rd-party-add-on" starved fs enthusiast using FSX doesn't pay much mind to this distinction - we want non-default aircraft to fly... yesterday!
