Latest Hotfix and CDTs

Featured Replies

Greetings all,

I've searched and searched for issues relating to my experience thus far, and nothing as really popped up that I can use.  So, here's my issue(s).  Pre-hotfix(es) the sim was running fine for me, didn't experience any CDTs.  Now post Hotfix(es) I can load up a flight, cold and dark, at my local field (KPVU) and as soon as I try to pan around or go to external mode, a brief pause, and CDT.  This has happened 3 times in a row, different airports, but they happen about the same time.  Now, I haven't tried to load a flight already started on the runway, or already in the air.

My community folder is EMPTY, no mods, no 3rd party stuff, nada!  So, where do I start?  Do I start with graphics settings in the sim, do I start with the NVIDIA settings, what makes more sense?

I had the latest NVIDIA drivers loaded but couldn't even load up the sim, it would CDT during load.  I reverted back to what I was using, the 457.30, which worked great pre hotfix.

Being that the sim worked good for me pre hotfix, I'm thinking my hardware is working fine, so something in the hotfixes have changed and I'm just looking for a starting point.

Thanks all!

Ken

I would start with clearing out your rolling cache. You have to disable it, then set a new size to clear it out.

Thanks Wims80, I'll definitely give it a try!

Make sure all USB devices are disconnected except keyboard and mouse. If you use Track IR, definitely unplug it and make sure the software is not running. Also check in your content manager that the Garmin G1000 NXI is not installed. Good luck.

Rob,  are you talking about just un-plugging things like my joystick, during boot up of the sim?  Then, plug it in once things get running?  The only things I have plugged in to a USB is the joystick and my wireless internet antennae.

Try different USB sockets. USB's can sometimes send spurious signals if they are on the blink, and these can crash programs.

And check in Control Panel, Device Manager, HID (Human Interface Devices) to identify your flight controller(s) and make sure under its Properties that Windows Advanced Power Management is off (not selected)1

For testing Ken, I would keep the joystick unplugged.

Interesting, I do not see these options, maybe your install is not the English language install?  I see only under USB Input Device Properties - Power Management - only two options;

Allow the computer to turn off this devise to save power

Allow this device to wake the computer

(nothing about Windows Advanced Power Management)

CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB
