flightplan go gps

Featured Replies

I started using Flightplan go gps for flight tracking, and really am liking  it.  The only problem I have is when I switch to another app on my phone, (with flightplan go still running in the background), or my phone screen times out, I loose GPS connection from the sim and have to go back into the phone menu and re-establish simulator GPS connection.

Anyone find a way to keep from losing gps connection on the phone app when switching apps, or timing out?

If it makes any difference, I am using the program "fightplan go GPS" on my PC to bridge the sim with the phone app.  There was another similar program I tried as well, but it did the same thing.

No.  As a long time FltPlan Go user I have found no way to accomplish that.  I have an iPad and an iPhone.  I use the iPad and FltPlan Go when flying and rely on the iPhone for concurrent use of any other apps.

If you have not yet experienced this next related issue then "heads up"!  I routinely "edit" the flight plan route on the FltPlan Go map page.  Via that edit function you can learn to overlay on the map an approach plate for your destination airport and drag the magenta flight plan line to each fix on the approach to add them.  If you switch apps you not only have to reconnect.  You also lose that work and have to re-edit it back in.

I'm wondering if you can use the app Flight Events, to broadcast to your devices IP address, and FltPlan might pick up the data. I use it very successfully with Foreflight and that might work the same way?

Speaking of iPads, this desk mount is simple and rugged. Limited to 10.5" screens and smaller.
