Transition altitude / level...

Featured Replies

Having native access to Navigraph data I would expect a more consistent management of altimeter settings as provided by ATC.ย

In my flights around Europe ATC acts like if we were in the USA ๐Ÿ˜•

They correctly track the type of airspace, so, after fixing whatever is causing the problems with the altitude, they could easily add consistent published transition alts and default transition levels.

Welcome to playing a flight sim made by an American company; MS Flight Sim has always been like that. You'd think Eurocontrolย was an alien concept. Still it could be worse; if you're a Russian simmer you're certainly not going to get accurate ATC levelsย for there.

Whilst it does not address your issue around transition levels/alts, if you'd like to have an ATC that that sounds and feels more European, this mod is pretty extensive in what it changes:-

https://flightsim.to/file/4518/european-atc-phraseology-mod

For example, rather than requesting "flight following", you will request "flight information service", and ATC will respond with the same terminology.ย  To reiterate, it changed nothing of MSFS's ATC engine but makes some clever changes to phraseology, so that European terms and phrases are used, instead of American.

If you use it, be careful regarding the install. You need to back up an important core file and replace it with the one provided.ย ย  If you want to switch back to US ATC, you just go and back up the new Euro file, and restore the US one.

Exactly Chock, as well as other regions of theย World, but having access as they now do, to pretty much all of the data, and having closed areas of development to 3pds, they have, IMH, to offer consistent modelling of such features.

Bill, thank you for the link ๐Ÿ‘

I believe Pilot2atc has correct phraseology for UK and Europe. At least it was planned but I can't confirm Dave got around to doing it.

Pilot2ATC has a forum here on Avsim, I'd ask Dave (the developer) if he got around to implementing correct phraseology for Europe. He's always helpful and quick to respond.
