So I just launched my Sim 30 mins ago and there's been a circling symbol in the bottom right of my screen for those 30 minutes on the screen with the yellow tail dragger.

Did you update in MS Store / Steam first?

(If you can't find update in MS Store, install and launch XBox App in said store first)

Could be high server load right now on the evening of such a major update. But 30 minutes sounds excessive. 

No updates do not play snooker,

I believe that was the issue. Thanks for the heads-up. What a stupid problem to have. Why they changed the update process is beyond me.

No worries mate, yeah I had the same issue. Never had it before. Glad it's fixed now!

Well guys,

I have (apparently) updated the microsoft store (ticked "you're good to go" but no update available.

After some 30 attempts, I am off to XPlane for a flight.

In the Microsoft Store, search for Xbox App (not the other Xbox stuff in there), install it and launch it. Make sure you're logged in to your account.

Then the update should be available in the Store after that. 👍

As I said ...  "I have (apparently) updated the microsoft store (ticked "you're good to go)" This is after I have clicked downloads and updates at the store numerous times.  There is still no update at this time.

I have uninstalled MSFS and am redownloading it now (approximately 130gb) I am now under the impression that there must be an update around (tongue in cheek) because I am now doing my 4th consecutive uninstall/reinstall as a result of the last four mandatory updates. 

I am also wondering if there is a hidden MSFS agenda regarding having to install the xbox app.  I sincerely hope that this is not a covert move to leave the PC version. Just speculation on my part.

I didn't want the Xbox App either, but all I was saying is that if you install it, launch it, it will prompt the update for MSFS in the MS Store. This has been reported by myself and dozens if not hundreds of other users.

Please do not think your comments were not appreciated. They most certainly were. They did not help me but they were appreciated. 

In the end, I think the fact that I was unable to launch the XBox app that was my problem,

I just hope the reinstall goes smoothly (it normally does) and I can fly maybe late this afternoon.

In the meantime I have had two flights with XPlane and whilst doing so, I reflected on the fact that I have not had to do a reinstall there, since I initially downloaded and installed XPlane11 on day one of release. The XPlane updates were a bit of a bugbear but only because of the Canadian headwinds servers which nearly overcame any forward progress with the downloads (LOL)  NOW THAT is stability.

Okay, I understand. The update process certainly could be a lot smoother and more intuitive than it is right now. Wishing you well and hope the reinstall fixed it so you can enjoy MSFS like it should be. The sim is really great now. 😃

Hi guys,

Well not a great start for this update for me after an uninstall and reinstall.

With an empty community folder, I selected the DA62 flying VFR from YBBN. Loaded well and I had great frame rates. I took off and my undercarriage came up automatically. My controls (a spare Throttle quadrant axis set for gear up and gear down) did not respond to trying to get me gear down and now would clicking on the Gear handle in the cockpit. So I abandoned the flight and got into control mapping to find that those settings had been deleted. The next hour was spent checking all my mappings with about 7 anomolies being found and I had to re map those. What in this update would cause that????

Next flight was OK and everything worked.

I then renamed my community folder back and removed the empty one,

I then selected the MB339 (I love this aircraft) and YBBN again which resulted in 2 subsequent CTDs I am at a loss here as both the aircraft and airport are payware and both functioned perfectly prior to the update.

Today is a new day and I will shortly try another flight. However, I have to say one abandoned flight and 2 CTDs after the update is not what I would call a promising start.
