September 23, 20214 yr This isn't a Microsoft decision, it's just the way these platforms work unfortunately. It's the same with Train Sim World 2: if you got the Epic Games Store version when it was available for free, purchased a couple of DLC routes, then decided to purchase the Steam version for whatever reason, you would have to buy the same add-on routes again on Steam, and vice versa switching the other way from Steam to Epic.
September 23, 20214 yr If it is a "simple" scenery add-on it should be possible to copy it before you make the transfer. Later you may paste it into the community folder of the Steam version. Only disadvantage would be that you won't get any updates. I have some add-ons, where no updates came out since quite some time even though several sim updates have appeared. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

Not sure if you are referencing addons in general, or addons purchased through the Marketplace. In any case I have the answer I was seeking. I only have two Marketplace purchased addons. The Carenado Mooney and the Drzewiecki Design Washington Landmarks. I have not yet decided to switch platforms but holding that in reserve if the update nonsense continues.. September 23, 20214 yr Presumably this non-transferability between MS Store and Steam also applies to the Premium and Premium Deluxe upgrades ?
