I work full time>developing content for FS9 and FSX... ;)Bill lucky you to do it full time for FS and FSX lolI have to do it in real life for mainframe stuff with a different approach no game stuff ;-)>>Add-ons will be the case to reinstall when you have to>>reinstall your FSX installation...>>That will always be the case if someone does a full reinstall>of any software.Yep and that was my point ;-)> >In any case, no "reinstall" should be necessary. Running the "Repair">option will revert FSX to it's original core content without>disturbing any addon product that's "followed the SDK" with>regards to it's installation.Thought about the reinstall option via repair, already tested?Hope the performance gain is substantial and finally to enjoy FSX which has a lot to offer :-)Anyway despite our disagreement on the approach would like to thank you all in advance for all the hard work also the beta testers :-)Have fun guys,Andr André

March 30, 200719 yr Author Boy, are we spoiled! FSX has only been out for a couple of months, in many ways there were huge changes that all developers have to deal with, there are new FSX products coming out every day, there are many FS9 products that work in FSX (except for landing lights), and people are complaining there aren't enough addons?????Give it time, man. There are more addons under development than ever!I can say that I do wish that the SDK was more comprehensive. I feel dead in the water without a decent replacement for AFCAD. Now, I have to admit, Lee did spoil us with that one, but, I sure wish there was a comparable replacement.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180 Tom Perry
March 30, 200719 yr Author Well, here's the problem, I'd really like to know WHICH files are going to be edited. I've done a lot of changes like swapping out the Orbit etc. textures on the default jets, which of course means the aircraft.cfg has changed. Fortunately, I have saved the default .cfg files, so it shouldn't be too hard for me to swap them out and then winmerge my changes back in after installing the patch. But maybe these files aren't going to change anyway? It sure would be easier if we had a list of which files are going to be changed.Or perhaps the installation program could spit out a list of files that didn't pass its check before it ran?Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180 Tom Perry
