M33 missing buildings

Featured Replies

Anyone else missing buildings at M33 outside Nashville?

  • 2 weeks later...

I am missing airport buildings at KHGR (Hagerstown, MD), N68 (Franklin County, PA) and KCXY (Capital City, Harrisburg, PA) as of this morning (Nov 7th, 2021). I'm sure there are probably others. Not sure when this happened, Seems like there was no  issue until latest Sim Update. I guess I need to report this to Zen Desk

I posted another thread about this earlier this morning.  It started yesterday for me, airports are now missing the default buildings (I noticed it at KMTN, KPHL, KOXB).  The custom Asobo airports are fine along with my addon airports.  All of these airports were fine 24 hours ago so it's not an issue with the last update.  I wonder if it is on the server side..??

In the interim there is a pretty good KMTN available on TO.

Well, in a way, the fact that you just discovered it as well makes me feel a little better knowing that it is a problem on the Asobo/MS end of things rather than me having to do a lot of troubleshooting on my PC. I did temporarily disable the Community folder thinking it was something in there but it made no difference. I submitted a bug report to the Zen Desk and, hopefully, they will get flooded with more and get a fix done on this. In the meantime, I guess I'll just fly between payware and freeware airports.🤨

Thanks!

Most of the small airports were generated via outdated OpenStreetMap data from like 3-4 years ago. If there were no buildings on there at the time, they won't be in the sim.

If there were buildings at one point in the sim but have gone missing since, then I don't know. That should be bug reported.

M33/KXNX does not have any buildings on OpenStreetMap, which is probably why there aren't any in the sim.

In the case of those I checked today, the second item you mentioned is the case. The buildings were there previously including KBWI.

As of this morning (Monday Nov 8 ) it seems this issue is only affecting some but not all the default airports. All non-USA airports I checked are OK including Canada. Some USA airports (Ft Smith, Arkansas is one) are OK while BWI, Harrisburg Capital City are missing). Seems like a perplaxing issue. 🙁

PROBLEM SOLVED: I had inadvertantly removed a folder full of CGL files in an attempt to fix a CTD issue. That folder containled all the files for the airport buildings that were missing. Restoring fixed the problem and my buildings are back. Yay!

Folder was named 032 and it was located at OneStore\fs-base-cgl\CGL in case anyone else screwed up like me (I hope not - one of us is enough).

Well, I'll be $#@%!  That was it!  This was the file causing the Washington DC CTD which I also disabled.  Replacing the file fixed the issue with the missing buildings!  The odd thing is that I removed that file over a week ago and only noticed a couple days ago.  I had flown out of a couple of those airports and I guess never noticed although it might have been night time so didn't see they were missing.  Thanks for reporting back!!

So happy it fixed your issue too! This is a positive advatage to these forums. I get discouraged at times with all the trolls, but this makes it all worth while.

I happened to go to KPHL this afternoon (first time) and discovered many gates on the ramps not connected to any buildings. The buildings seem to be missing. 😒
