Has the "Leaning Bug" been addressed by ASOBO ?

Featured Replies

Having been quite away from MFS for more than2 months, I really didn't pay attention to theiur dev updates so, I wonder if they ever mentioned fixing the unfamous leaning bug for reciprocating engines ?

Can anyone point me to it being acknowledged and listed for upate ? I haven't found any references in my search ...

No as far as I can see.

Fuel flow can still increase sometimes as you lean, before it eventually drops.

And I am having to lean to about 45% for it to be at the right fuel / air mixture at about 6000 feet in say the C172.  Not sure if that is about right, as I am not a 'real' pilot.

Thx Bob,  and no - it's not right because it should start dropping from the beginning ...

Let's hope they fix their reciprocating model one day - apparently it's still FSX-ish...

True!  I recall a conversation on the Robert Young G36 the other day, when someone mentioned that leaning the engine and fuel flow do not show entirely correct behaviour.
Robert Young's reaction was that he is limited to what he can do, as Asobo still need to fix it.  If Robert Young says this, I believe him.

And I believe he also pointed out that it is a legacy issue that tracks back to FSX, and perhaps prior to that.

Rob Young is a living legend in flight simulation world. He's done so much and asks for literally nothing in return. This forum finds ways to trash and discredit literally everything any anyone but Rob Young is untouchable.

Rob. I know you hate attention but god bless you brother and best of health to you. You've been through a lot and still putting in the work for no other reason then to provide.

Indeed,

Rob is a long time contributor and overall enhancer of many aspects of MS FS based flight simulation.

Real Air's models are a Reference !

I owned each and every one and sometimes really miss the sensation of flying them, starting with fs9 ...

Brother.. You have no idea how badly I want RealAir Simulations Lancair Legacy in MSFS right now.  I've been missing this plane for years since I went to X-Plane.  Then MSFS 2020.

The biggest honor and "claim to fame" was repainting it. I spend countless hours on this exterior and interior repaint because I cherished it so much. To this day nothing compares

I guess we can gloat every once in awhile. My work on the Lancair Legacy for FSX/Prepar3D (early days) is something I cherish. I bled for this plane in Photoshop

? Is that replying to me?  I have never done that.  I love the G36 and donated - I was just pointing out a conversation I read elsewhere about the MSFS leaning issue.

I am sure it was not addressed to you Bob, quite on the contrary, but rather to some who complained about this & that not being available for the free G36.

I remember when Rob initially released, some people were complaining about features that weren't there or not correctly modeled.
