MSFS Killed My Second Monitor

Recommended Posts

I don't know how it happened, but my second monitor stopped working partway through the big download.  Now, if I turn it off and back on again, it lasts for about half a second then dies.  The lights are still on, but I can't use it.

Any thoughts?

Seems like another seriously bug following the SU7, sigh.

I can't really see how MSFS would be able to kill the monitor but just bad timing that you had MSFS open at the same time.

OP says they weren't even running the sim but during the download...  I agree most likely a horrible coincidence or a driver update in the background?

Did you check video settings, check cable connections?

And just to be sure if it's your monitor or your PC, plug any bluray player, cable box, anything with compatible video out on your monitor

I know when my old second monitor died it just died.  Stopped working without any prior indication something was wrong.

Besides vid settings I would also physically switch around the video connectors, ie. make your primary monitor secondary, and your secondary monitor primary. See if the same problem still occurs with the same monitor.

My 2 cents anyway 🙂

Does this only happen when msfs is running? If the monitor doesn't stay on when you are doing something else you probably have a dead monitor. I would try going back to an earlier driver and see if that cures the problem just in case.
