November 19, 20214 yr Late one evening, a Police patrol car was routinely parked outside a local neighborhood bar at closing time. The officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity and trying his keys on five vehicles, the man managed to find his car, which he fell into. He was there for a few minutes as a number of other customers left the bar and drove off. Finally he started the car and even though it was a fine, dry night he switched the wipers on and off. He then switched on the turn signals, then switched them off, tooted the horn, and turned on the headlights. He moved the vehicle forward a few feet, reversed a little and then remained stationary for a few more minutes as some other vehicles left the parking lot. At last he pulled out onto the street and started to drive slowly down the road. The Police officer, having patiently waited all this time, now started up the patrol car, put on the flashing lights, pulled the man over, and carried out a breathalyzer test. To his amazement the breathalyzer indicated no evidence of the man's intoxication. The Police officer said "I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the Police station - this breathalyzer equipment must be broken." "I doubt it," said the man, "tonight I'm the designated decoy". November 19, 20214 yr Cute story... Unfortunately, recent stats have shown that distracted driving can be just as dangerous as drunk driving, or with a buzz on. Cell phones anyone?
November 19, 20214 yr If that keeps up they're going to pass a law against designated decoys. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

Reminds me of this one: With the Holidays upon us I would like to share a personal experience with all of you about drinking and driving. As you may know, some of us have been known to have brushes with the authorities from time to time on the way home after a "social session" out with friends. Well, two days ago I was out for an evening with friends and had several drinks of Scotch followed by some rather nice red wine... a dry Chianti I think it was. Feeling jolly, I still had the sense to know that I may be slightly over the limit. That's when I did something that I've never done before, I took a cab home. Sure enough on the way home there was a police road block, but since it was a cab they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident. This was a real surprise as I had never driven a cab before, I don't know where I got it, and now that it's in my garage I'm not sure what to do with it. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
November 20, 20214 yr Wow, what a fascinating story. But the policeman was fooled by the man, letting his other friends who were drunk driving on the road. And another day, he is a drunkard again, and his friend will be the designated prey. That is dangerous.
November 20, 20214 yr Yeah well I got pulled over by a Trooper and he said to me: "I smell alcohol." So I said to him: " That's because you don't respect social distancing". Captain to First Officer: " I didn't say it was your fault I am just blaming you "
