the manual for the TV should say which one to use.

As I said above, the manual for that TV mentions using HDMI IN 1 for UHD signals.

Okay, so the manufacturer's specifications for that TV say there are 3 x HDMI ports on the TV. If so, try each one, even if it means swapping with something else.

When I had this same issue, it was simply a case of having the PC connected to the "wrong" port on the TV. I think it would still technically output at 4K, but Windows wouldn't see it as the native resolution, and it wouldn't let me turn HDR on. Also, one game refused to let me set its resolution to anything above 1080p, which is what Windows thought the native resolution was.

What you are doing is the same as setting the TV to Full HD and running the sim in Full HD.
The upscaling does absolutely nothing to the quality.
This ain’t Nvidia DLSS or some fancy stuff the TV is doing.

? I'm not doing any upscaling. Not sure what you're referring to. I'm talking about connecting to the correct HDMI port on the TV for the PC to recognise the native resolution as 4K.

@Op Did you change the input of your TV to „PC“?
You have to rename the HDMI input as described here on page 20:

Was the wrong quote. Sorry mate 🙂

I too use a large 4K TV for my simming. I find I get both excellent resolution and performance by setting the sim resolution to 3840 x 2160, then setting the Render Scaling down to 50, which produces a very clean 1920 x 1080 standard HD display. Most 4K TVs these days are very good at upscaling the display, since there are very few native 4K television broadcasts. So this method produces the best of both worlds -- hi-res graphics with good FPS. I might add that my computer hardware is almost seven years old.

I meant this one 😉

Rendering on a PC (which outputs 4K) in 1080p, sending it to a TV who then upscale as again to 4K (which is simply streching the image) is the same as directly displaying it at 1080p.

Thats why I am not finding any difference between HD and 4K. Except for the Quality increase due to High to Ultra within the sim.
