I appreciate the videos he has done, and the opportunity to see more of a country I lived and worked in for a few years prior to Independance helping bring telecommunication to the country ,  I note that his videos are not preaching in anyway and this is good to see.  It is no of my concern that he charges a lot for his other flights etc on his patreon page but some seem to value these but I think there are much more resources available for the money,

What he does with what he gets from these is no concern of mine though personally I think missionaries have done the most harm in every place they have been.  He seems a nice guy and the videos he shows of the area he flies in are great.

The pricing of this course is not excessive and I am sure will convey a lot to those who enroll.

+1 totally agree!

I highlighted a few. Top picture is the real world Kodiak used in the tutorials, below it is the sim version. Of course the pilot will mainly talk about the G1000 but he might also talk (a lot?) about all the other stuff he has that isn't in the sim version. But regardless, I personally prefer a tutorial that's done with the sim plane so you can be sure that everything that's being discussed will also be there in the plane your flying in MSFS. I am sure the sim version has some limitations the real version doesn't have. 😉

These differences are minor.  The box on top of the panel is just a box of switches not connected electrically to the aircraft. He uses that box as a checklist instead of paper for take off and landing.  The autopilot controls are different but have similar functionality. You have also highlighted a display specifically used by his company for tracking. You also highlight one standby instrument.

His course does of course cover the G1000, but most of it concerns other aircraft systems and flying techniques.

The Sim Kodiak 100 is so well done it can be flown following the course.

I have found his you tube vides extremely entertaining and helpful. It is obvious that he is passionate about flying real planes and does his best to share his passion through his videos. The sim experience is relatively new for everyone. I applaud him for bringing real life experience to the sim world for those of us that do not have the opportunity to experience flying real planes. After all- is that not the point of a sim - to get it as life like as possible? Having a highly experienced Bush Pilot who was willing to take the time to transfer all of his real life experiences into the sim through tutorials is awesome and we should all applaud him for his efforts. Most pilots that I know would never bother to create tutorials on video as it is hard and requires a great deal of time. Seriously how many hours do you think this guy spent setting up these tutorials which contain his very unique experiences flying the Quest Kodiak >1,000 hours. There are very few real life Kodiak 100 planes that have more than 700 hours on their airframe. He is likely one of only 15 pilots on the planet Earth that has >1,000 hours flying this plane. I seriously doubt that he made these videos trying to make a bunch of money off of sim enthusiasts. Pilots with his experience level have oodles of opportunities to make plenty of money flying airplanes. I guarantee everyone reading this thread paid more than $50 for their cell phone last month. I applaud this guy for living his life with passion and spreading his excitement for flying to as many people that he can.
