December 21, 20214 yr Does anyone know if he goes over setting up the controls and how they relate to the MSFS Controls settings ? I have my Mobiflight/Stream Deck set to the Mooney and now need to set them up for the Kodiak 100. The VS set/activate is not the same. The plane in basic mode wo engine managment or other realistic settings and is easy to get of the ground as it flys straight off its self. Its a beautiful plane. 5 MHz 8087 IBM Clone, 640k RAM, 10 MB HD, Hercules 64k Graphics card, 14 in Monochrome Monitor, CH Products Mach-1 Joy Stick.

My point is simple there are free stuff and there are not. If it's not it's better to point out upfront. It's not my business who and why charges money. They have they own reasons. But to answer your sarcastic question. Yes I give flight instruction for free in real life. And I have done it a lot. Not everyone can afford to fly but a lot of people love aviation. There are some stuff free there are not. It's better to know in advance which one is which. Very simple as that. Remember youtube pays you money for anyone "free" videos if they have sufficient amount of viewers. There are some people that actually making living on "free" youtube videos. He does not really touch on anything regarding the sim. He is basically giving you a tutorial on the actual aircraft that you can utilize in-sim. I don't recall him even mentioning the Kodiak addon.... Eric i9-12900k, RTX 5070ti OC, 32GB ddr5 5600 RAM, 2TB 980 Pro SSD, Titan 240RX AIO, Samsung CRG90 49", Win 11

I'm not too sure why this isn't put up front or a better description by the OP instead of just a link. A course syllabus or a better description goes a long way. Hope him the best at selling his product and respect that he is helping those in need. No offense to him. This thread could have beed started better instead of a title to get you to click on the link. 5 MHz 8087 IBM Clone, 640k RAM, 10 MB HD, Hercules 64k Graphics card, 14 in Monochrome Monitor, CH Products Mach-1 Joy Stick.

An Example Curriculum is on this page: https://kodiak-training.teachable.com/p/kodiak-simulator-training As already stated this is a real life pilot using a real life plane. No one even knows if he owns MSFS or ever did any simming. I don't own the Kodiak 100 (yet) but I can see his real world plane has a different cockpit configurarion than the simulated Kodiak 100 so there are bound to be differences between what he will show and teach you and what you can simulate in the sim. For me this is reason enough to not enroll (regardless of the price). I rather have a real life pilot teaching me everything while using a specific addon in a specific sim so I can be 100% sure we are both experiencing the same.

Of course the pilot will mainly talk about the G1000 but he might also talk (a lot?) about all the other stuff he has that isn't in the sim version. But regardless, I personally prefer a tutorial that's done with the sim plane so you can be sure that everything that's being discussed will also be there in the plane your flying in MSFS. I am sure the sim version has some limitations the real version doesn't have. ;)

There are some extra things in his aircraft that are different. It has the analog standby instruments instead of the digital ESI500. The box on top of the dash is some kind of checklist box he uses instead of paper. The Autopilot/YD (middle bottom of pic) in the sim is different. He also has a tracker installed for his company so a few of those things are related to that along with an HF radio on bottom right of MFD. The thing on top of the PFD is some kind of display module but not sure what it is used for. December 22, 20214 yr The Q 400 training videos that I purchased years ago, used the sim as the basis for the training. To me that is the best way to design a training course. I don't think I wold be interested in spending $50 for a course that wasn't using the sim for it's basis.
