December 25, 20214 yr A flight in the center of France. Châteauroux The city was a major NATO AFB between 1949 and 1967. Many US servicemen were posted here then. This is not this airport though 😄 Flying West, a vast area of ponds and lakes called "La Brenne". A fisherman's paradise. as seen by a fisherman 😉 (I love this pic, I don't know why. Nostalgia ?) Le Blanc Not a grand shot but look how the town is organized along a main street toward the bridge over the Vienne river with the graveyard orginally at the outskirt and close to it a large supermarket (a 'hypermarket' in franglish) The village of Saint Savin with its famous abbey. The abbey is well modelled in MSFS. I didn't find my screenshots of it so you will have to go and look for yourself ! There are two bridges. The foreground one comes from the medieval time and is narrow. The other one is modern and larger. The Vienne river meets the Loire river Approaching Saumur with the castle in view. December 30, 20214 yr Lovely pics of the area and town... (especially liked the (swooping down) shot #3, with its rippled water surface, bordered by trees...exactly how it might look like in RW) ...
