January 7, 20224 yr My sim experience has been destroyed. My Track IR which has been super smooth and reliable for years, somehow went into Motion Blur. The gauges and distant scenery now go really blurry except until my head stops. Happened due to the failed installation of a friend's alternative head tracker when I used my sim rig to try to sort out his installation problems. I have spent hours studying, tried several profiles and worked with the set up process for TrackIR custom profiles, speed and smooth sliders, etc. I have spent hours on X-Plane Graphic settings and get 30 to 40 FPS. No matter what I do I cannot restore the previous clarity and steady visuals that I used to have looking out the windows for pattern work and other VFR flight. Really depressed over this change. What is the cure for Motion Blur in X-Plane for TrackIR?
January 7, 20224 yr Did you forget to swap back to your favorite TIR profile? January 7, 20224 yr Are you using another plugin to control TrackIR, like X-Camera? If so, be sure Xplane is not also set to control it.
January 7, 20224 yr Author Ryan - I believe that I was just on the default profile. Randall - Yes, I use X-Camera and got that right at the outset years back. Tried to do the proper study upfront and the results were excellent. One thing that I noted is that in the YouTube tutorials, the scale shown for the horizontal "True Head Angle" is very different compared to my installation. My horizontal scale is very compressed and I cannot figure out how to properly change it. Specifically - The horizontal scale on the YouTube tutorials is 0-15-45 etc. The width of the bars is quite wide. While my horizontal scale is 0-3-6-9-12-15-18-21-24-27 etc. The width of the bars is very small. If I use the mouse to zoom in the scale does not change and almost instantly is expanded out of limits. Any idea why my TrackIR profile screen is different? Edited January 7, 20224 yr by Rmmm

A screenshot or two would help us understand better.
January 8, 20224 yr Author Here are the two "scales". Randall - No Change in any display settings. FIRST Screenshot is one the best detailed YT tutorials. The SECOND Screenshot is my "scale". Ignore my Speed and Smooth Sliders. I have experimented with these on all settings. https://photos.app.goo.gl/xjzvyPYX9Tw7vbbe9 Edited January 8, 20224 yr by Rmmm

The Vertical Scale is a multiplier so that you can look 180 degrees behind if you want to, all the while still having eyes on your monitor. For example, in YAW... A dot at 45 degrees on the horizontal and 4 on the vertical means when you have turned 45 degrees, your view on screen will be 45x4 = 180 degrees. Helpful in DCS. I fly GA to support real world training in a C172. What does your scale look like? First Screenshot from the tutorial? 0-15-30-45? Edited January 8, 20224 yr by Rmmm
January 8, 20224 yr Neither have I. This is how mine is setup. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AueVg7eVAeXMlTyFVITysy15_V71?e=YL0yBS . . .and that's just following the help manual and playing with it over the years. Frankly it looks like an issue of screen resolution, and I'm new to XP but have 'heard' of compatibility between X-Camera and TIR, so I stayed away from it. As far as installations and re-installations go - I will recommend "Revo Uninstaller" https://www.revouninstaller.com/ for managing all uninstalls. It will take every piece that might be a possible left-over off the machine. That is a most interesting profile. The vertical multiplier scale is being applied to the max. I have decided that I need a more flat and low curve. But my first attempt had no effect at all on the Blurry Gauges and scenery which is my main problem.
January 8, 20224 yr "no effect at all on the Blurry Gauges and scenery which is my main problem." This, and the 'look' of your TIR pic, is why I think you have a screen resolution issue - not a TIR issue. What are your monitor & graphics settings? Are you using the monitors' native res? I can get that TIR 'look' by playing with the mouse scroll button with TIR. but it doesn't make anything blurry. The TIR pic was just the default profile to show the horizontal scale in question. My monitor was not a factor in the sudden change to blurry distant scenery and gauges while I move that I am dealing with now. I use a 60" 4K LED TV at 3840x2160. My TrackIR was working flawlessly for many years. The visual presentation was fantastic and super steady - giving me outstanding immersion. With my YOKO yoke and MFG Rudders / Trim Wheel / TQ / Flaps Switch, I could practice stalls and steep turns and pattern work / short field and soft field procedures in support of my real world PPL training. This collapse of my sim is just awful. Especially as recovery is proving elusive. Seems the focus has to be on what changed due to the failed installation of a friends "alternative" head tracker unit? Edited January 8, 20224 yr by Rmmm
January 8, 20224 yr That would be the - or at least "a" direction I would go in. Perhaps re-install the X-Camera - then download Revo and do an un-install of that program - and see if that fixes it. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
January 8, 20224 yr I also have a similar setup, but with a 43" LG straight monitor @3840x2160, sitting 32" away. Have you, or can you substitute the TV for a regular monitor?
