I'm looking at this scenery item but unfortunately there are no reviews, comments or reviews. Has anyone purchased this product?  Comments?

Just need add an 'l' (as in lima) onto the end of that link for it to work, in case anyone's puzzled.

Didn't purchase it but 1. I never buy anything from SimMarket because they have zero quality control, 2. I haven't heard much good about Taburet (apart from his mesh being a total waste of money) and 3. 17 euro's for just a downtown scenery while you have the entire globe in MSFS by default and lots of photogrammetry (if you happen to like that) and great autogen plus numerous POI's? No, thank you. But to each his own! 😉

With hundreds of Addons , no seller can check them all.

Correct, but there are sellers who only sell addons from known (acknowledged) developers: it seems that on SimMarket anyone can sell their stuff no matter what. The word not allowed and scams you sometimes see over there are enough to never bother with SimMarket. But that's just my opinion. 😉

Indeed and an opinion repeatedly shared by a couple of posters at Avsim and honestly I don't understand this Simmarket bashing.

This is a shop. They sell good stuff and not so good stuff. Then what ? Like any large store they have a a large variety of products for every taste. Some are not worth the price ? Then again what ?

Scam ? A bit exaggerated to say the least, they are not crook ! They deliver the product you buy, their installers work well, they are generally responsive when you have a problem, they keep your account clean and warn you when there is an update. What do you want more ? That they sell only the products validated by you ? They don't scam anybody, it is up to the customer to make his home work and decide what is worth his or her money. With the hundred of youtube, forum postings, reviews of all kind it is not difficult.

How many general shops do we have : Aerosoft, Orbx in a limited way, Flight1 which seems on a downward slope and Simmarket. And, of course, the ineffable MS Store. Simmarket is,  if I am not mistaken, the only one not affiliated with a developer. Do you think thats too many ?

I agree.  Like with anything, it's 'buyer beware!'  Even the MSFS marketplace has some questionable add-ons.

I have used Simmarket for years without any problems, and always get emails for the updates (Bijan's Trees just yesterday for example).

As for this product (San Francisco), I don't completely like the look of it.  Developers seem to make the buildings too colourful in these cityscapes in my opinion, and it makes them look artificial of like something out of FSX.  They would be better to fade the concrete / steel / glass colours a little to make them look more natural / realistic.

I recently bought Orbx Chicago.  The colour balance wasn't too bad, but my god, from about a mile away it turned my 3080Ti into a stuttering mess!

Unless you have a serious fetish for the buildings looking exactly like they should, I think MSFS standard buildings are a decent compromise.
I can't use Chicago again and will uninstall it from the library - I will maybe try again when I can get a 4090!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I've learned my lesson buying from them and avoided them after I purchased all of RealityXP's product. It almost made me give up buying were it not for RealityXP tech support which is nice. I don't understand why Flight1 makes it so difficult to pay, download, or uninstall/re-install products they distribute.
