VR recommended software

Featured Replies

Yesterday, I got a Quest 2 and was blown away by it. I was wondering if there are any recommended software addons that help with the VR experience. For instance, the in-game iPad from Sky4sim might be very useful to view charts and METARs, but does it work with the Quest 2? And what about the Navigraph in-game chart viewer, does it have similar functionalities?

There might be more useful software. I could imagine a tool that lets you more easily interact with switches and buttons, or let's you find your mouse; or an in-game keyboard, or ... Please let me know of anything you found useful for the VR experience.

Thanks,

Peter

sky4sim would work fine. I have it and like it. Best of the 3 I've tried for the job.

I use pms50 gtn (with navigraph subscription) with navigraph vr screen. This allow me for instance to have airport layout for taxi while having a second screen for departure procedure or flight route. I used sky4sim also but more for checklists.

P3D when its freezing in Quebec....well, that's most of the time...
C-GDXL based at CYQB for real flying when its warming up...

Not to mention the g3000 from working title also displays navigraph, and hoping their g1000 does in the future.  Going to look into sky4sim as well, looks really good for vr.

Thanks Everyone,

I gave the Sky4Sim Pad a try and like it so far. I still have to play around with a lot of features, but the basic functionalities are very well implemented.

Keep the suggestions coming, everyone 🙂

If you own a Leap motion device and want to try hand gesture to replace controllers hardware:

To get a better image clarity and performance you may want to try this:

Other tools are coming from the same author soon, like adjustments for world scale, lightness, DSR scaling and more!

The PMS GTN750 is working well.
