Press any button to start - MSFS store version

Featured Replies

Recently I start getting the message "Press any button to start" when I launch MSFS. It then takes me to an x-box screen (I am running a MS store version of MSFS) where I log in but that returns me to the "Press any button to start" screen and I am stuck in a loop.

The only way around this is to reboot the PC and hope for the best next time around.

Very annoying. What can I do to get around this.

The only time i see this since one of the early updates, is when the sim has not been shut down properly.

Yes I do, but it is not linked to to any Microsoft account at all. I can not see how this could impact MSFS.

It happened to me yesterday for the first time ... not sure what the problem is.
But at the same time Windows prompted me to repair my Microsoft account because there is a problem to authenticate.

Maybe something to do with the recent server problems/DDOS attacks.

I went to Windows Store and ran all updates on XBox app, gaming etc. When I restarted, it gave me a program is already running message and loaded normally.

Likewise. I signed out of both MS Store and Xbox app, then re-signed into them both. Problem solved
