RAAS PMDG P3Dv5.3

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a P3Dv5.3 user and I have a problem with RAAS in 777 of PMDG. Approaching runway I don't hear any RAAS announcement.

My first move was to cut-paste RAASPRO folder from P3D main folder to User\user\Documents, in order to make P3D enable RAAS. Despite that, it still produces

no announcement.

On the other hand, PMDG support state unable to help.

A valid add-on.xml exists, dll.xml has a RAAS entry, RAAS is activated through PMDG setup, but still no success.

Can anybody help ?

Running win10 with latest updates.

Sotiris.

Hi Sotiris,

Do you see RAAS in the ADDONS MENU?

Do you have RAAS enabled for your model in the PMDG equipment options?

9 times out of 10 though, these problems are associated with a corrupt DLL.xml.

Any invalid characters on the DLL.xml, and the things will not load.

Many thanks Bryan for your reply.

Yes, RAAS is enabled both in P3D addons menu and in PMDG equipment options.

And yes, I found three invalid characters in dll.xml which have been removed, but, following a test with the 777,

no announcement was heard once more. Could be any P3D sound option ticked/unticked the culprit for that ?

Yes, twice.

Now that the proper dll.xml is used, do I have to re-run makerunways ?

You don't have to re-run it.

Can you run the Audio test in RAAS.  Open RAAS via the ADDONS MENU, and run the audio test to confirm your audio is functioning.

Addons menu ...you mean in P3D menu ? Did not quite understand how that audio test is carried out.

Yes, in the P3D Addons menu, you should see RAAS listed in the Drop Down menu there.

On the RAAS menu, you should see an Audio Test:

The only RAAS entry in P3D is the addons-enabled list entry. If you mean the drop-down menu when a situation starts, there is nothing relevant. Please note I have not installed FS2CREW RAASPRO. I only have what was included in PMDG installer.

If RAAS is not in the ADDONS drop down menu (and you said it's not there), then the problem is your DLL.xml.

Any corruption on it (invalid characters) and RAAS won't load.

Please use our test DLL.xml here.

Many thanks Bryan for your efforts to assist me.

Could you please send to me the link to FS2CREW tickets, as I told earlier I don't have bought the product from FS2CREW and it is possible to be asked for info I don't really have.

Tried to submit the ticket unsuccessfully. Maybe because of order # and point of purchase fields missing.
