Slightly off topic but I'm surprised no one has made a version of the P3D Avatar for MSFS, yet. Heck I'm surprised ASOBO didn't do it. Most modern games have different control modes between player characters and vehicles. MSFS really has no reason to be different. We should totally be able to make our pilot avatar walk around our aircraft using in game physics.

I asked ORBX about a MSFS version of BOB a while back and was given a strong NO, they feel the drone cam function is sufficient enough.

I can't wait to walk up to the MD80 and see it parked outside of my terminal!🍻

Wish I could give you a date that would happen, but we know I can't. 😉

I'm not trying to torture you guys, I just want to give you guys some screens of her to enjoy while you have to wait.

I know when I'm waiting on a release....I enjoy seeing the beta team posting pics to enjoy vs seeing nothing, then the release just pops out.

Agreed.  I assume you just "happened" to chose THAT plane as your subject Steve 😉.    Well played sir!

Mapping to the HOTAS is pretty analogous to the xbox controller.  Whatever hardware you have at your disposal will do the trick.  Both allow progressive joystick movement which is the key to allow you to smoothly fly around (better than keystrokes).  The xbox controller also has the two paddle inputs which move you up and down giving you 6 degrees of freedom.  (Its pretty cheap too .. $50.. if you didnt have the spare joystick handy)

Hehe....I just happened to be at Renton, in the MD...actually in drone mode checking out the factory floor (watching all the animations is fascinating) when I saw this thread.   So since I was pretty far away from the parked MD....I ramped the speed of the drone to max and zipped over to the plane, opened the air stair, slowed down the drone speed, set it to 80% zoom, and started walking around the plane. 🙂

I was being cautious and had the cockpit axe in my hand as I walked around...I was surrounded by Boeing employees after all. LOL.  In know Boeing eventually bought MD, but still...I'm sure I was seen as the enemy hehe.

Steve Dra
