Default ESSA(Stockholm Arlanda Issues)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have noticed on numerous visits to this airport that live AI traffic taxis into position on the active and just sits there before eventually disappearing, next one lines up same thing. I have noticed this issue on the 01/19  runways as well as 08/26. I am using AIG traffic.

In my old days of FS2004 i thing you could move various nodes to alleviate this problem, can you do this in MSFS?

Has anyone else noticed this problem, and does it affect other airports also?

Any advice would be welcome.

Regards

Nic

There is a beta version of ADE for MSFS that supposedly allows editing of nodes, similar to what we have in other sims.  I have not downloaded it, but I figure it's available on FSDeveloper or Scruffyduck Software's discord site or possibly github.

YES this is a problem at other airports, and I believe you are also correct about the cause.  It appears to me that much of the AI behavior code was pulled straight in from FSX, as these aircraft are doing exactly the same things they did in 2007 when we had a hold short node that was too far from the runway centerline.   Or a disconnected taxiline.

But typically when you had aircraft halting at the hold short it was because the hold short node was too far from the runway centerline.  That sort of thing happens when you have 100's of airports that were generated by script and not by hand.

My $0.02 worth:  I do use the MSFS version of ADE and it works very well, at least for MSFS stock airports.  It is more complicated with add-ons.

You should be fine with ESSA.

Thanks for your replies

I did not realise there was a ADE style program for MSFS may need to look into that.

I have some strange problems with ground-issues, rwy 01-19R and 08-26, its like the ground suddenly "jumps" two meters down in elevation. Anyone seen this?

Best regards

Buspelle,

Yes I have looks like some airport worker has built a 2 course stone wall across the runway, after dodging the stationary A320 I then thought I was going to rip my undercarriage off....perhaps the Swedish authorities don't want us landing at Arlanda!!!!

I hope the team will look into this issue ASAP

There is a crack at runaway 26, and AI doesn't take off from the same runway either, I have sent a report to Zendesk about that a long time ago without a response from Asobo, I think we have to wait for Marcus Nyberg's version of the airport, Asobo does not seem to care.

Lets hope for Marcus then! 💗
