D-Day

Featured Replies

I had my quarterly checkup with my primary care guy yesterday and he told me to come back and see him in three months.

I went to the receptionist and said, "Three months."

She looked at her screena and said how about 1 O'Clock on June 6th.

I said, "D-Day."

She said, "What's D-Day?"

I suddenly felt terribly old.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Noel, u should feel sad not old - sad about her lack of education.

...Lack of education.... I totally agree!!!!!

Wow I would have been speechless, yes as been said not old just lack of education.

My kids are born in New Zealand and I will say they do an excellent job on teaching them about the ANZAC's here, since I am not from here I learned a lot too with them, especially Gallipoli which was something they don't teach us in Canada. My oldest daughter knows about D-Day because her great-grandfather flew support above the beach that day, I've shown her the story about him in one of my books about that day, these things are important to pass along to the next generations.

I know about Gallipoli Matthew.  Another blunder where the ANZACs to the brunt of the casualties.  I don't know if I learned it in school or if I learned it on my own.
