Anyway, anyone know if scenery exist for this plane, like recreated airports from the 1930's. Would be awsome to have for this one.

Cool, thanks for the tip. Think I also need to get some pis.s jugs to have in my pit flying this plane:D. It need so much attention im scared to leave it for one second:p

Is there an easy way to swap between the 1935 scenery and my modern scenery?

Would be cool if Henrik Nielsen made era apropriate boat traffic too. That would be icing on the cake.

Yeah you need to be countering changes in temps/pressure as they occur, not try and fix them once they are already outside optimal, as running outside the permitted zone seems, among other things, to result in excess oil consumption and eventually it will run out of oil and you get one of those sudden unexpected engine failures people complain about.

That, of course is part of the fun of flying this with all the realism turned on 😄

That said, if you are in a stable cruise straight and level, with no weird outside weather variations, it tends to be fine.  Climbing, descending or entering an area with different OAT etc is another matter, you need to keep a close eye on oil pressure.

Just in case, maybe beware going to Wings42 website, it's changed. Not sure if it was hacked or account expired.

The website has been all over the place for at least 3-6 months.

The developer himself (Wing 42 is a one man show that outsourced some of their work, it was just him and some sub contractors) has been uncontactable even by other people in his team (the guy that did the radios for example) for at least a year.

It is the subject of much discussion on the main forums:

  • The more rational posters assume something has gone seriously wrong in real life, some sort of accident or major mental/physical health issues, and he is potentially never coming back, wait and see
  • The more paranoid posters have all sorts of conspiracy theories about how the whole thing was some sort of plot to rip off purchasers and how he deliberately released it incomplete with the intention of abandoning it. Basically taking personal offence at their complaints getting ignored and throwing tantrums about a $20 product
  • The reality is it flies fine, many of the issues are just people refusing to admit they are flying it wrong, while the known bugs like wrongly calibrated temp gauges can be worked around,  and if needs be people could just disable engine realism and fly it like they fly a Carenado product.

Even with realism disabled and no support it is a bargain for $20. However new purchasers need to be aware if any future sim updates eventually break this addon (2024 for example) no one is around to fix it.

For the record, the 3 Red Wing 1935 mail routes price in msfs is misleading (its cheaper actually, because some assets are in 2 or all 3 of the packages and you don't pay except once).

It looks to be $ 38 +28 + 29= $92, but if buy them all, the total charge is: $38 + 19 + 17 = $74

The beacons have either green or red top light, depending on their function. And beneath another light blinks the Morse identity code. Boats in harbor are vintage. As are all the cars in parking lot. Hangars, terminals too. The maintenance vehicles are old 1935 trucks. It's just a one to one replacement of models and textures. Famous tall buildings in NY Manhattan were a lot similar at that time, but not exactly the same.

There is a mail sack at each airport which your mail plane drops a rope to hook onto. Your trim will be affected as the sacks are on the side and rear.

Unfortunately there is only one Redwing mailplane, and it's older era than 1935. It's the only plane with the drop rope to grab the mail. Would be nice if the Ford Trimotor could be fitted.

Despite the 5 star reviews in markeplace, it's a lot of money. There's an .to addon that adds 8 more 1935 cities (free), but it requires assets from the Redwing packages. There are 16 Redwing cities in the  three 1935 CAM routes (Contract Air Mail system).

None of the above.  And those posters must be new-to-it.  It's just like always.  He completely disappears for long periods of time.  Only to re-appear at a later date.
