Here you can see nice fototexture on mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. If you look closer, you can see a boundary close to the snowy cap, showing a lighter texture, which maybe default. I guess the darker texture is from ORBX africa. At this point it is not very disturbing but later, if I get closer.

Problem is, the low res texture always comes up again, I have some sort of texture flickering from low res to high res.

On this picture you see the low res texture and on top and the side is high res. I only want to show high res. Is it conflicting scenery? 

As said before, there is default scenery, Aerosoft Kilimanjaro airport and ORBX LC Africa. Can I disable some scenery or will it be black then? Can I change a setting? I have an RTX3090 with enough VRAM to load these textures.

Or is it just Prepar3D 5.3, which isn't better than that.

Do you have the mesh layer that ships with LC Africa enabled?  Africa is the only Orbx LC product that also includes terrain mesh.  If so, you might try disabling it--could be you're getting the swapping as a result of terrain morphing due to changing LOD levels as you approach--add-on mesh exacerbates the problem.

Yes mesh is enabled too. I'll try it disabled...

I see now, the addon.xml is combined with the photoscenery, difficult, I will try anyway whithout it.

No, no EA. I found it is a file of Aerosoft Kilimanjaro. Still tracing it down. Will post soon which file needs to be removed.

Pretty obvious HTKJ_Photo01.bgl, HTKJ_Photo02.bgl and HTKJ_Photo03.bgl seem to be more than only the airport souroundings. In my first try, to rename the files to off, it had no effects. Removing them solved the problem and the aerosoft airport still looks good.

May be a factor maybe not never noticed with my setup and I have the same areas and scenery. The Tessalation Factor settings. LM recommend this being set high not low to improved the way the mesh and textures are interpreted in the sim. Have a look at the P3D help area they have some good screen shots explaining tessalation - I have my Tesslation set at Ultra now but High was OK too. Does make a world of difference. What level do you have your texture resolution set at? ORBX have always recommended 4096x4096 and while I have to say for Non ORBX areas and most of the models about 2048x2048 is fine for ORBX it does know back the texture display quality.

Otherwise it has to be your scenery config order and indexes out of whack!

The problem has been solved. I found and removed the low res mountain scenery files. 

I found the LM thread too with the tesselation factor. I had it already on high an texture resolution at 4096x4096. Long time I had it on the 2048x2048 setting but I found my system has no problem with higher resolutions. 

The Aerosoft Kilimanjaro Airport scenery covers mount Kilimanjaro with some low resolution textures in the files mentioned above. I had not seen this, when I got the product. The airport is fine in P3D5. I only had to add exclusions and added the tower frequency. Inibuilds has an exclusion file too as well as dynamic lighting. The airport is pretty dark in the night however.

Ah good - that is the thing with scenery seems guaranteed to throw up surprises and problems - in fact I would have to say 90% of all the problems I have had with the sim have come back to some scenery issue! Anyway enjoy Mt Kilamanjaro!

Yes, I know these. It is (for all of Africa) a big load. Of course, I could get Tanzania only for the first but I´m pretty happy now with this
