Varjo Aero is absolute next level insanity

Recommended Posts

My Rift S and Reverb G2 fit like gloves.

They are so comfortable I can fall asleep wearing both.

Maybe I just have the ideal face/headshape for comfort, as I can sit in them for several hours without feeling any weight nor pressure.

We've come a long way from the earlier HMDs as far as comfort.

I love the self-contained tracking of my Reverb G2. As much as the extra resolution might be appealing I don't think I would want to deal with multiple base station mounting and wiring.  Seems like a step backward from where I am now. Plus it's only Steam VR ?

Not disagreeing with you, but for clarity, as you're seated, for flight simming, one base station is all that's required.

Sounds fair enough. I might give it another look.

I have a Reverb G2 but rarely use it for MSFS.  OK for a quick VFR flight but until one can look outside the headset in some way it is flawed imho.  Sim Racing is a different thing altogether. No need for outside view so I can drive for hours in comfort.  For flightsm I use Foreflight on the iPad, I have a Streamdeck, Fly on PilotEdge - VR just isn't useable for me.

One base station didn’t cut it for me. Too many glitches. Two makes it rock solid.

I've just got a Varjo Aero and now need to get one (or two) base stations. Newbie question, but will it work with any SteamVR™ 2.0 base station, or are different base stations specific to a particular manufacturer's headsets? When I look at adverts, they all seem to quote specific manufacturers.

How is the performance in MSFS with the varjo? I have the HP G2 and I can barely run it with a GTX 3080ti.

Aero is no more demanding than G2 in my experience
