Long Frames since recent updates?

Featured Replies

I observe so-called long frames (1-2 sec) every 30-40 seconds since SU9/WU9. This is with the default TBM 930 even over "easy" areas. It seems to be  the main thread but I'm wondering why I didn't observe it before the recent updates. Off course I suspected the Terrain LOD settings which I have now at 200 but the issue is still there - may be a bit less. I may add, before the recent Sim and World Updates I could fly with Terrain LOD 300-400 w/o any problems. Even in more heavy areas like Vancouver or Chicago with lots of add-ons active. And off course, I have cleared Rolling Cache each time after I updated the sim. I have seen some suggestions to avoid stutters by reducing the Terrain LOD to 100 or even lower. But this is not what I want to accept in regard of my CPU (12900K) and GPU(3090). Is there anything else what I could do?

Hi there,

check your add-ons, I came across something similar and found out that one of the mamudesign / powerlines / pojectlifts / solarfarms caused heavy stutter after an update. I disabled them and back to normal then. Basically check for object generating add-ons.

Good luck

Two things to check:

1) Do you have any add-on DEM installed? Some of them are compiled in a way that suddenly became overtaxing to the sim since the second to last Sim Update

2) Do you use the Toobar Pushback add-on? If so remove it. It has been widely reported to cause stutters and long frames when installed, even if it isn't used at the moment.

Both times: No. @Micko good suggestion, I disabled all mamudesign andn related add-ons, but the long frames are still there. I was very happy with the sim the last few months and did not have any issues but now it is bugging me. I can only hope it is an add-on causing this. Have now to investigate further.

This has been like this since SU9. Big threads over the msfs forums on it. A lot of folks don’t notice it here as they’re locked to 30fps with 30hz and ‘everything is fine’ etc…
