Fenix A320 corrupts Assistance Options-Weird

Featured Replies

Yes, this is bizarre. I have been flying the C-310 and having a lovely time. I installed the Fenix A320 yesterday and within about 15 minutes I was taxiing, etc trying to learn the ac. During the subsequent trials during a landing, I noticed the rudder was not working, at all and ran off of the runway. Since I do not have pedals, I have always used "auto-rudder" in the Assistant Options. When I "escaped" and checked AO, 100% of the options were overwritten with the term "VOLOCOPTER" even Heading title between the blue tags. Obviously choices are also greyed out so that nothing is selectable.

This is the WEIRD part. I am using a clean community folder and I have since tried again the 310, the DC-6 and Staggerwing  and they work fabulously... No issues. AO presents itself as expected. I've rebooted, reinstalled Fenix, no joy. I'm going to remove, if I can, the Volocopter folder out of MSFS and see what happens..

In the meantime, I'm using a Logictech 3D  twist grip as a rudder and it suffices, even though AO is corrupted with Volocopter..Anyone have any ideas???? Love the A320 in spite of these issues.

I noticed last night I no longer had access to the assist menu either.

This is something that FBW and Fenix are both doing to make sure you can’t turn on the assistance. Apparently turning it on breaks the flight model that both planes are using. It’s not the most elegant solution, but I guess they have no choice.

This is something that was even the case all the way back in FSX and P3D with the third party Airbus simulations. Usually due to the highly automated nature of the Airbus systems, developers will disable such assistance features as they can interfere with the systems logic of the plane. I’m not surprised Fenix has implemented something like this. FSLabs allowed you to configure such things through the MCDU, but I haven’t checked with Fenix how they implement it.

Interesting thoughts, but further investigation reveals that both Asobo and FBW 320s load up fine and the AO work as expected. I tried to find the Volocopter, must be in Official folder. I went to Content Manager and deleted it there, but when I reloaded the Fenix, same issue as before:  AO options were overwritten with Volocopter.. Hmm. The plot thickens.

I can understand restricting the use of AO in Class D sims that are undergoing FAA certifications, but this is an "entertainment" system and surely the option would be available.

No, it's not an "interesting thought". This behavior has been confirmed by the FBW devs, as well as the Fenix devs.

For the FBW it may not be in stable yet, but it's coming.

Gee.. who knew??? Thank you for the clarification. Would be nice if Fenix was a bit transparent about this, if this is the case in this instance...

They confirmed it as well, check their Discord, or ask over there and you'll get a response.

For people (like me) that use ATC assistance so you essentially have your first officer handle the comms this can still be turned on in the full menu.

Hi guys any answer as how to get rid of those labels yet? It is so frustrating to have them appearing everytime i want to click something.

Hello, I faced the same problem with the volocopter assistance being locked when I was starting the fenix A320, i could get rid of it by turning the assitance from the main menu back into my usual settings. Everything was messed up there for some reason. But it seems to come back after a while.
