  1. This is odd. I tried that and as long as a discrete GPU is plugged in, I can not enable the integrated graphics chip on the CPU. I wanted the GPU to power the main screen and the integrated chip to power a small 1080 14" monitor plugged directly into the MB. No Joy. On my Gigabyte setup it's either/or. Glad yours works fine. When I plug the second monitor into the video card, naturally the FPS drops a few. Luck of the draw, I guess..
  2. Jack, glad you have a solution. I took your postings to heart and particularly interested in the SteamWebHelper. I tried modifying the shortcut and it seemed to work. What also worked was and this I demonstrated by monitoring Task Manager. If you start Steam normally, SteamWebHelper loads and is active in TM. If you go into Steam and select "offline mode", SteamWebHelper does NOT stop. It still runs BUT, if you close Steam app, then restart and confirm to start in OFFLINE mode, then SteamWebHelper will NOT start and isn't present in TM. Seems after selecting Offline mode in Steam, one has to exit and confirm upon restart that OFFLINE is what is needed. Anyway, glad you got it sorted. Just a tidbit in case someone else has a similar issue. Happy flying.. Terry
  3. Just a passing note. Marketplace does not usually sell warbirds with exposed weapons, whereas the developer's website will in most cases not only display them, but animate them somewhat. Also any updates are generally quicker on seller's websites than on the marketplace. Just a couple of notes to be aware of. Good hunting...
  4. Jack, glad to see you're still hanging in there. I just noticed something on my rig that might be of benefit. However, not knowing your exact configuration, I'm shooting in the dark here. I was looking at Task Mgr and noticed a cycle of about one second duration. I use an overlay by NZXT that monitors cpu and GPU temp, CPU and GPU load and cpu and GPU clock speed. Oddly this seems to poll the system every second. I don't however; notice any interruption in MSFS. Just didn't know if perhaps you have any overlay/external app similarly that is running concurrently. Hope you find it soon... Best of luck. Terry
  5. Fielder: Your post reiterated the one puzzling issue with Windows: Overriding customer selection. Previously I had no power plan selected and physically went to Dev Mgr and on the controllers I was using disabled power off feature. Using your suggestions, I found at least a dozen more USB devices that had the power management enabled even though I had opted for No Power Plan. Great tip. Thank you...
  6. OK, Jack. I have to modify procedure slightly. Steam will not allow you to go OFFLINE if MSFS is running. Before starting MSFS, go to Steam main page, select Steam Option and in the dropdown select OFFLINE. Then start MSFS using either a shortcut or Addon Linker. I don't mean take MSFS Offline, but Steam.. They are two different functions
  7. Standby. I want to confirm something, but basically while MSFS is running, click on the Steam icon and go to the front page that has the following across the top : Steam View Friends Games Help Click on Steam option and in the dropdown select GO OFFLINE. Check your MSFS performance..I'll confirm that one can do that...
  8. Jack, really feel bad for you. Steam user here, Just a thought: How you tried the sim while being OFFLINE from Steam. ? That would be a quick way to see if Steam is doing something nefarious. You can start Steam to get MSFS started, then go OFFLINE from Steam and check you MSFS reaction. Just a thought.. Good Luck..Terry
  9. Bert, I also wish to thank you for the great tip. I'd forgotten just how good the WT530 is over the default one. I had relegated the V35 to back of the hangar for awhile. It's now a joy.. Going to be difficult to decide V35, JPL152, CJ4, TBM, 737. hmmm. decisions, decisions. Thank you..
  10. There be gremlins in the house. I first experienced this unexpected throttle back three nights ago. I was using the new JPL V2.0 152. In cockpit throttle would roll back after a few seconds. I use the Honeycomb Bravo. I also tried another AC.. same same. I do not use flight assist for anything. Nothing checked. Not sure if it's related, but I had selected the second AC from the developer's' dropdown. When the second AC exhibited same behavior, I exited to main menu, reselected AC and all was good. Strange.. for sure..
  11. Jarmstro: Very interesting comment about the PMDG 737 AP and this JPL V2.0 mod. I flew all weekend in both AC and noticed that the 737 would not even follow a basic HDG, let alone the Magenta Line. I will followup and see if this mod is the culprit. Thank you for the tip. I never would have put the two together. I just love this mod and I might just have to forego the 737 for awhile until this gets sorted. Hats off to you for the HU.
  12. There is a way to change planes without going back to Main Menu. I do it routinely. Hit ESC, select Developer Menu, enable then return to flight. Open the pull down menu Under Windows for Aircraft Selection, select the airplane, Load. Your new aircraft will be waiting for you at the location you just exited. HOWEVER, please note, the remainder of your flight might not be recorded in the pilot's log. Otherwise, all functions have worked fine for me, excepting logging the second part of the flight. I have done this many times, even changing planes multiple times during a particular route while checking for hardware control behavior. If your log book is sacred, then you should probably avoid this method as there's a good chance the flight will not be recorded..
  13. Like the OP, after SU11 I was experiencing more CTDs after 30-45 min of flight, changing views, going back to main menu. Any function requiring an input. I took Sonosusto's list and discovered that by changing the power management profile (never turn off) of the USB devices seems to have eliminated the fearsome CTDs. Just a suggestion... but totally agree it's a real pain having to deal with sim crashing in midst of a long flight. Hope you get it sorted....
  14. I realize this is only antidotal, but like the OP, I was getting CTD (not BSOD) after 30-45 min flight, changing views, exiting Dev Mode, even returning to Main Menu. No rhyme or reason. But after reading B777ER, I tried disabling FSUIPC..Only two flights, but both have not resulted in a CTD yet. Before, no matter condition of Community folder, about the 30 minute flight time and MSFS would CTD..I am not using the registered version of FSUIPC. Bizarre.. Luke, hope you find the issue.. it is extremely frustrating when it's happening to you..
  15. I find AOL priceless. I load up 32GB of 100 addons including FSUIPC, LNM, Flight recorder, AAOs and others in a 2TB NVME drive. Total time from green arrow in AOL to the Map display in MSFS : 105 seconds. This is on a two year old 10th Gen system. Of course I do not load up ALL the World Updates as I only load where I fly. Addon Linker makes activating and deactivating addons as simple as clicking a box. Bad_T is THE man...
