Fenix and some interesting performance find

Featured Replies

Hi guys, i need your take on this.

I found that on my system using the GPU give the best performance BUT the MFD's are laggy. With that said, if i go from fullscreen to window, the MFD's are no longer laggy at all ! it all runs smooth !

As soon as i am back to fullscreen the laggy MFD's return.

What are the professionals here think could cause this ?

Yes I have noticed this as well. Initially I used GPU but then I switched to rendering to CPU, and display on performance, which seems provide reasonable balance on my system (i'm running MSFS on Ultra)

If we can solve why the MFD's lagging at full screen while using GPU we might have a great preforming plane !

Yes it would be great! Not sure if Fenix team is looking into increasing performance

One of their devs said in the Discord its cause at fullscreen Windows give priority to MSFS and not to the Displays app the Fenix uses...

It should be possible to override this with e.g. Process Lasso. I’ve got both MSFS and all the active Fenix apps set to CPU priority: high.

Try switching off Windows Game Mode to see if that makes any difference.

just saw that over at the Fenix knowledgebase and deactivated it, seems to give me up to 1 fps more (loading the Fenix at LOWS Rwy33) but seems smoother nonetheless, will leave it off now since it got not worse
